4 Bramley apples, weighing about 560 g in total225g mincemeat
50g shelled pecan nuts, chopped and lightly toasted under the grill, or 50g walnuts (but do not toast them)
1 tbsp soft brown sugar
1 orange, grated zest
1 lemon, grated zest
0.5 tsp ground mixed spice
0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
50g flaked almonds, lightly toasted under the grill
25g white breadcrumbs
50g unsalted Butter
4 sheets Filo pastry, or strudel pastry (from a defrosted 450g pack)
1 tbsp icing sugar
