An easy-to prepare version of this classic Spanish tapas dish from Clodagh McKenna

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin Olive oil
  • 1 medium potato, parboiled and cut into medium-sized chunks
  • 1 pinch sea salt

For the sauce

  • 2 tsp Mustard
  • 6 drops Tabasco
  • 500ml tomato purée

Method

1. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Add the potato chunks and fry for 5 minutes, until golden brown. Drain the potatoes and sprinkle with sea salt.

2. To make the sauce, add the mustard and Tabasco to the tomato puree mixing well. Spread the sauce over the potatoes. Serve hot.

I agree with the other comments, this really does not resemble anything like the real patatas bravas.

Sorry, but this is not patatas bravas that I have experienced. It needs a bit more spanish attitude, some onions and some fresh peppers

I agree, it doesn't resemble any patatas bravas I have ever eaten, I don't suppose you have a better recipe petax?

venga!! That is certainly a version of Patatas bravas, the only thing it has in common with the real thing is the potatoes and the olive oil. Could do better, even if you only have a British Supermarket to shop from.
