Method

1. To make the Scottish broth, place the vegetables into a pan with the stock cube, cover with water and bring to the boil.

2. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until the vegetables are soft but still retaining their shape.

3. Drizzle a little oil over the steaks and rub them with a little chilli powder and garlic. Season with a little salt and freshly ground black pepper.

4. Place the steaks on a barbecue and cook to your liking, turning once. Serve the steaks immediately with the broth, accompanied by a salad and some crusty bread.
