Enjoy a classic Spanish tapas dish with Gioconda Scott's simple recipe for gloriously garlicky prawns

Prawns in garlic sauce

Prawns in Garlic Sauce

Method

1. Pour the olive oil into a heatproof earthenware ramekin. Heat the ramekin on a hob until hot.

2. Add the garlic and chilli and cook, stirring often, until the garlic is fragrant. Take care not to let the garlic burn,

3. Add the prawns, mixing in well, and season with salt.

4. Cover the ramekin, cook for half a minute then remove from the heat.

5. Serve at once.

The half lemon and parsly worked really well. Very nice dish. I also added some chorizo. Was a great flavour.

I live in spain and this dish is served in all restaurants called Gambas Pil Pil. It should be swimming in olive oil with the addition of paprika and more chilli, enjoy

comong from Mediterranean stock, I often make this dish. I agree that the few ingredients, fresh and gorgeous, speak for themselves, I have 2 things to add. Half a lemons worth of juice and a sprinkling of chopped flat leaf pxxxxly. It makes enough "juice" to mop up with bread, always a hit!
