  • On Philippas Fine Foods:

Posted on 25th of July 2006

I had the pleasure of sampling Philippa's food for the first time when she provided the catering for my mother's birthday in Somerset. I had heard about the care, finesse, love and man-hours that go into Philippa's Fine Foods, but I wasn't prepared for this! Fine fair indeed, it’s not easy picking a favourite dish, but if I had to it have would be Philippa's Red Onion and Lancashire cheese flan. Words alone cannot describe it, but I'll have a stab... Wow! sublime, heavenly, to die for, but more simply, just scrumptious! Philippa's recipe was so clear and easy to follow that even I couldn’t mess it up, and now my friends here in London are clambering for the recipe. I haven’t seen Philippa demonstrate at her cookery school, but I can imagine it being whirlwind of energy so a word to the wise… Jamie, Nigel, Anthony, Nigella and Gary, you should all be looking over your shoulders. There's a new girl in town and her name is Philippa James.
