Open in july last year Roses Tea Rooms has made a huge impact on the entire area and further afield. The look is clean, simple, fresh and compfortable not stuffy as you would expect! The service is friendly, personal, and professional. The food? Where do we start? A substantial menu with a largely vegetarian and vegan selection comprises of breakfast, hot and cold sandwiches, filled hot pitta breads, salads, Morecambe bay potted shrimps, Patchwork pates, soups, and so on. Many options have a Greek touch reflecting owners' origins (grilled halloumi in pitta, falafel with chilli jam, home made mousaka...)Ingredients and their origin is of paramount importance sourced locally where possible or from small national and artisan producers. Everything is made from scratch using the freshest products and the scones are simply unbeatable.what is also unique is that all meat, dairy and eggs is either freedom food, organic or free range- welfare is crucial.Lots of fair trade produce too. Also children are well catered for and nutition and health is taken seriously.Even the cheese is grated on premises to avoid the glutinous substance added on pre grated cheese! If you only visit once treat yourself to an afternoon tea served on a three tier silver stand with all the trimmings and for children there is a nursery tea equally impressive and healthy (lots of fresh fruit and homemade cinnamon toast!. As for bevarages, organic English juices, fair trade hot chocolate, loose leaf teas and freshly ground coffees....not bad for a tiny little shop a little off the beaten track thats s
