  • On The Feathers Inn:

Posted on 18th of May 2008

My partner and I had promised ourselves a visit after seeing The Feathers on last years Food Hero`s. We were not dissapointed. The mains of locally bred beef rump was cooked to perfection and the staff had no problem changing the chunky chips offered for boiled new potatoes. Served with a side salad and a bowl of asparagus and broad beans the taste was excuisite. For dessert, she who should be obeyed, opted for the bakewell tart and I for the rhubarb and apple crumble with vanilla custard.(it was a refreshing change to find it had not been named creme englaise) These too were top notch, bursting with taste and good portions to boot. The wine list is extensive and the real ales on offer well looked after (I`m an ex publican). A most agreable evening was had by us both and we shall definately call again. Good luck and Best Wishes.
