Recipe Story

i started to cook when i was 9 years old and it was then i realised i had a passion for cooking! this recipe was adapted as i love curries but felt that certain dishes i made lacked flavour and depth! i have always loved traditional dishes such as shephard's pie but decided to give them a twist! hope you enjoy my version and remember you can do anything with basic recipes to make them more interesting!

Ingredients


vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
1 small oniun finely chopped
1 red chilli finely chopped
1 clove of garlic
small piece of ginger finely chopped
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of garam masala
1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
1 teaspoon of mixed herbs
1 teaspoon of rosemary
500g of mincemeat
1 small tomatoe chopped finely
small glass of water
250g of frozen garden vegetables
250g of boiled potatoes
200ml double cream
50g of butter
100g of grated cheese

Method


1. place the oil,oniun,chilli,garlic,ginger,spices,
tomatoes,water and mincemeat into a large saucepan and cook for 20 minutes on a medium heat.
2. after 20 minutes add the frozen vegetables and cook for a further 10 minutes on a medium heat.
3. once the vegetables are cooked leave to cool.
4. place the potatoes,double cream and butter in a mixing bowl and mash together. season to taste.
5. use a large oven proofdish and place the mincemeat mixture at the bottom.
6. spoon the pototoe mixture on top and smooth flat.
7. finally sprinkle on the grated cheese and place under the grill until the cheese is golden brown.
