Recipe Story

Love veal escalope & subtle taste of veal. Wanted to try a dish with veal mince and this was the result. Love watching the shows & cooking myself. Hope you like this dish.

Ingredients


1 Pack of 400-450 gms of fresh Veal Mince
3 Carrots, sliced
Half large mild onion, sliced
1lb King Edward Potatoes
Few frozen peas, Birds Eye
1-2 packs Madeira wine gravy mix
Approx 1 tablespoon fresh chopped Oregano
(Veal & Oregano available from Waitrose)

Method


Method:
Fry carrots and onions until slightly golden. Now add mince gently fry off . Then add a little seasoning, paprika, ground white pepper, garlic pepper.
Remove from Frying pan and put in glass oven dish.
Add some frozen peas and a tablespoon of freshly chopped oregano then make up gravy and pour over the mince etc.
Peel and slice potatoes thinly, with skins left on and boil for 5-10 mins, then layer slightly over the mince. Cook in the oven for approx 25 mins (gas oven mark 5)

Veal makes a great alternative to beef or pork mince and is more subtle in taste but be careful not to over season.
