Recipe Story

O.T. is a drink which was made by my grandmother only at Christmas. The origins of the drink is inknown and the name derived is unknown. We do not know what O.T. is abbreviated from and we now wish we knew what it meant. From the ingredients one can tell it is a spicy but sweet drink with the amount of sugar that is added to it. The ingredients to it namely ginger might be to aid with digestion (heavy Goa Christmas food (all made with pork) like goa sausages, sorpotel, vindaloo, chacuti, pulav etc) and the cinnamon and cloves is probably for the smell and taste. I found the recipe in a dusty moth eaten book when I visited Goa in December but as yet not attemptd to make the drink. I have a feeling it has to be drunk neat in a small cherry glass or watered down with water because I know it would be a very pungent but an unusual drink.
