GARLIC BREAD- Another Place, Another Time

Recipe Story

I have always been a 'BREAD' guy! Pretty uncommon, being from India, with its wide array of exotic foods to choose from!
My garlic bread fixation is a funny story, largely directed at myself! I dont care for soups, but the accompanying Garlic Bread!!!, thats always welcome! Am the butt of a few good natured jokes about this, but lets leave that for Another Place, Another Time!
After a tough game of tennis in the morning, my ideal breakfast would be freshly brewed coffee, with loads of garlic bread!
The aroma and the flavour of well made garlic bread is unparalleled by other complicated designer dishes!

Servings:

Serves about 4 voracious garlic bread lovers!

Level of difficulty:

Easy

Ingredients

1 French baguette
150g butter
1 rounded tsp finely chopped garlic
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp chopped parsley

Method

1. Preheat the oven to gas 7/220C/425F
2. Cut the bread, on an angle, into 1.5cm slices. Try not to cut it through the base
3. Beat the butter with the garlic, pepper and parsley until soft.
4. Spread a layer of garlic butter over each slice and over the top of the bread.
5. Wrap the loaf in foil and bake in a hot oven for 10 minutes. Unwarp the foil and continue baking for another 5 minutes until the crust is crisp.

6. Take the bread out of the oven and cut through into individual slices - this is best served straight away.
