Recipe Story

in the old days in the Caribbean poor people could only afford the vegetables they grew, and as a special treet when slaughter day came the farmer would trade his chicken with vegetables grown within the district and saturdays was traditionally the soup day

Ingredients


Yam, Green Banana, Chow Chow, pumpkin, dumplins, coco, Dashean, casava, Sping Onion, Chicken or (lambs Neck) 1x or 2x Pumpkin meat soup flavouring or cock soup Flavouring

Method


boil Chicken,
peel veg and add in stages of cooking times,
Slice the back and fronts of green banana and boil in seperate pot, when skins come away add the banana flesh to soup (boil seperate to stop discolouration of soup mix), add soup flavouring which also acts as thickening agent, in a sepearte bowl add flour and water and butter to make a doughy consistency to make dumplins, add to the very end.
