Recipe Story

This recipe goes back to my grandmother in Germany and was the favourite food of my late father and myself. My lovely mum needed to make this all the time although she was working and the reparation of the pancakes are a bit labour intensive. The pancakes were first made by my grandmother in 1910 or thereabouts...

Servings:

4

Level of difficulty:

Easy

Ingredients

Pancakes

2 cups of plain flour
4 eggs
milk as needed
salt

Mince filling

1 kg fat free mince meat
1 grated onion
1 egg
1 bunch parsley, finely chopped
salt
pepper
dash of worshester sauce
breadcrumbs, if needed

Method

To make the pancakes mix the wet ingredients and add to the flour to make a batter. Use a little oil or a nostick frying pan and make thin pancackes.

For the filling combine all ingredients to a smooth paste. If too wet use a handful of breadcrumbs and mix in.

Fill each pancake with the mince mixture, roll, cut into suhsi like rolls, secure each little roll with a toothpick and fry on both sides until meat is cook. Medium heat otherwise it will burn.

Serve with lettuce leafs coated with a nice vinegrette.
