4 Cheese 'Pudding'

Recipe Story

Every Saturday, my Mum used to make this. We ate it following 'Dr Who.'

Ingredients


300 gms Mature Cheddar
150 gms Red Leicester
150 gms Mozzerella
100 gms Parmesan
500 ml milk
4 eggs
thinly sliced buttered bread

Method


Butter a deep dish. Layer with buttered bread and scatter cheese on top. Continue layering with different cheeses.
Whisk eggs with milk and pour over dish and top with Parmesan. Leave for 3 hours then bake 170C for 45 mins. Serve with green salad with lemon & castor sugar dressing.

I used to make this when my kids were young and I was broke, always had eggs and cheese, but ne4ver tried it with different cheeses. Am going to make it again...

This was a pudding I used to make frequently when my children were toddlers. My ancient recipe categorised it as a 'nursery dish' although it would be OK...
