Recipe Story

This was a recipe my husband made up the day he had to go to our daughter's school and cook. I was petrified because he could barely fry an egg, but guess what??? The kids adored it and it became part of the school menu which made me very proud of my husband and also made me make cook that dish at least twice a month!!! It is a fun and colourful dish.
You can also change the tuna for chicken or sausage.

Servings:

Serves 4 to 6 depending on apetite

Level of difficulty:

Easy

Ingredients

1 package of bowtie pasta
4 cand of tuna in water(or oil)
1 large onion
1 package of fresh mushrooms(can use canned but it never tastes the same
2 cups of peas(frozen)
2 cups of sweet corn
2 tbsp tomato sauce(any sort will do)
2 tsp Worcesteshire sauce
30oz (1,4pints)of cream (around 4 small packages of 200ml each)

Method

Put a pan with water to boil for the pasta. Add the salt once the water has boiled. I find it to boil faster without salt...who knows!!And no need to add oil to the water either. All you should do is stir the pasta at the beginning. Once the starch is loosened, the pasta will be just fine.
Chop the onions and fry them in olive oil until slightly golden.
Chop mushrooms and add them to the onions together with the worcestershire saude. Drain tuna and add to the mushrooms and onions. Warm it up a bit and add the frozen peas and the sweet corn and cook for about 5 minutes. At this time your water should be ready for the pasta, add the salt and the pasta and cook it for 8 to 10 minutes the most. Add the cream and the tomato sauce to the tuna mix and bring to a boil. Once the pasta is just right, drain it and put it in a large bowl topping it with the tuna sauce and VOILÁ!!! One of the kids favorite meals...must say mine too...Thank you hubbie!!!
