Edge and Sons Butchers

Butcher

Selling:

Edge's butchers, established in 1844, is a proper old-fashioned family butchers, but its support of rare breed meat and full traceability these days makes it rather with it. Traditionally butchered beef from pure breeds like British White or Longhorn comes from farms in Cheshire and Wales, and is hung for three weeks to ensure good flavour. Local fans swear by the homemade sausages.

The finest meat to be tasted, naturally reared and sourced locally. The rib of beef on the bone is amazing as is all of the meat. The shoulder of lamb roasted the Jamie Oliver way for 5 hours is fantastic. The staff are all friendly and extremely helpful, they get to know you and cut the meat to your requirements, nothing is too much bother. The sausages are really good, as are the eggs and chickens. I would not but my meat from anywhere else and I do not think it is any more expensive than from a supermarket.

Fantastic meat and helpful staff. Whether it is the rare breed steak, the Glouscester Old Spot pork, beautiful local lamb or the homemade sausages, this butchers is the best around. The staff are always helpful and willing to give advice on the best cuts of meat for particular purposes

This traditional butchers really knows their stuff. Whether its a common cut of meat or an uncommon one, they can do it all. They carefully source all their meat and use rare breeds whenever possible. They are the only butcher I use now, I've stopped buying packaged and only buy cared for meat. Their beef tastes amazing and if you are making sausage rolls or scotch eggs their sausage meat is superb.

Whether buying for a lunch for one or for when the entire family is coming for dinner the service and advice about cut, flavour, cooking etc. is exemplary - and the staff are ALL absolutely brilliant and ready to talk about the meat, where it is from etc. The duck that we ate for Christmas lunch was the best that we have ever, ever eaten.

THe butchers shop with a lineage even longer than the pedigree of their carefully selected animals,I am always pleased with meat bought here, the difference between it and supermarket produce is clear
