View all reviews (11)I have seen Allison's fairy tale castle cake in person and at first glance I thought it was a real doll house. It was absolutely stunning - perfectly proportioined and a total jaw-dropper! Her cupcakes are out of this world - remember those Grandma used to make? Allison's will make Granny's taste like sawdust! Delicious!
We met Alison at the Derby Food Fair. She is quite simply astounding. Her food is both delicious, stunning and are works of art. She is friendly, approachable, willing to go that extra mile for all her customers and is a wonderful breath of fresh air to deal with. If anybody truly deserves the title of "local hero" you need look no further than "The Cake Sculptor". I can't think of one single area where she does not excell.
The most delicious cupcakes I have EVER tasted - little drops of heaven!! And I need to get married now so I can ask Alison to make me one of her fabulous wedding cakes - truly spectacular...
Ali made the most amazing cake when my husband was made Mayor. She kindly donated the cake which enabled it to be raffled and the money raised went to Charity. She was extremely helpful and went out of her way to explain how the cake was made - nothing was too much trouble.
I am a taster for the experimental cupcakes and regularly review on the monthly newsletters. Alison always goes above and beyond standard levels of service for her customers and her products are exceptional quality!
Ali is one of the most creative, talented and hard working people I know. Her spectacular cake designs need to be seen to be believed. To come as far as she has, with the hands that fate has sometimes dealt her, is no mean feat. Keep up the good work chick!!

Specialist cakes for every occassion! I have known Alison Lycett for many years and I am astounded at the strength of dedication and passion that she holds for food. Her enthusiasm and creativity know no bounds and it is with all these things combined that she is able to deliver a service second to none. So many people I know who have had cakes from her have commented that not only how good they look and taste but how extremely happy they were with the end product and have been more than happy to recommend to their friends. Ali has created this business from scratch and has flown in the face of adversity, overcome every challenge that she has ever faced in delivering the best (and sometimes better) than her customers could ever imagine. Managing a busy business, family, personal difficulties that have had be overcome and other commitments mean that in my eyes she is a true Food Hero! She is a winner and should be recognised as such!
Alison makes a range of bespoke cakes at a reasonable price, she also makes the worlds best cupcakes that have to be tasted to be believed they are truly outstanding, if I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life Ali's cupcakes would be it, especially the chocolate orange ones! Yummy!
