View all reviews (24)I could go on about the value for money and the good food but this little cafe means a lot more to people in the community it has been run by the same family for over forty years therefore remained a constant point of reference for people who have grown up in the community enabling them to keeping in touch with people and old friends. Not to mention working with charities putting on events to raise money for the local community. A Place in the city were everyone knows your name. Vince

The food is good, the people are lovely the service is excellent! what more can one want! I started going here with my parents when I was very young,and I still occationally pop in. I always get a welcomimg greeting, although I dearly miss Eleni[known to everybody as Helen] Alex's mother who is no longer with us. she would be very proud to see how the business has continued to thrive! I have some wonderful memories of this place that I will always treasure! good luck Alex and Sam your standards are above average!

I cannot claim to have been a part of the Monte Carlo family for 40years...a mere 10! However, my son, who is almost four, views the cafe as 'his'. The food is good, the people are great and I can't imagine it not being there...a true local food hero!

Well unlike Sandy i have been going to the Monte for 40 Years since the age of 9 when i started working the markets i am now 49 but look 39 i put it down to good food and great company!
Sandy Great atmosphere coupled with great food, have been coming to the Monte for over 21 years and feels like a second family as the Monte is run by extremely friendly people which has a knock on effect with all who eat there.

Fantastic food cooked to order, always a warm welcome, I lived around the corner for 8 years, now travel 20 miles for a breakfast special. Just can't be beaten.

well cooked food very clean and tidy, 40 years family run great place to work happy staff and nice people of all walks of life that come in. kids over the years that have come in are now adults and bringing there children in thats says it all
The cafe is a great place to meet for breakfast, brunch or dinner. They serve everything from a delicious full english, fresh omelettes and home cooked chips. A great family business which has been running for over forty years, employees local people, friends and family. They all sale some of the best chocolate brownies!!!!
