Shaun and I booked a 3 night break at Fern Cottage for my birthday in early June 2008. On arrival Sue and Pete were the perfect hosts, greeting us with a warm welcome, showing us our beautiful accommodation and being more than informative about everything, you could not fault their hospitality. The breakfast menu was amazing, not only were we completely spoilt for choice, but the food was outstanding, everything being cooked to perfection. Prior to going down to Fern Cottage Sue booked a pub/restaurant for my birthday and recommended various places to visit during our stay there. We will both certainly be returning there in the near future after such a delightful and enjoyable stay. Sue and Shaun

There is nothing nicer than being treated as a special friend and that is what you get at Fern Cottage. My husband and I had a wonderful three day break. Everything from the welcome to the price was perfect - thank you, once again, Sue and Pete. Stephanie, East Sussex

I arranged a weekend for my partner as a suprise 40th and was over the moon with our stay at Fern Cottage. As has previously been said, Sue and Pete are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. I had brought champagne which Sue was good enough to put in our room on ice on returning from a lovely evening out at a restaurant recommended by them. I cant wait to go again as it has been added to me and my partners list of favourite special places.

Our first visit to Fern Cottage was after Mick, my husband had been ill and in need of some pampering, Sue and Peter not only provided that but we had an exceptional weekend at an exceptional place and are looking forward to our return in September this year Paula and Michael Partridge

My wife and I first visited Fern Cottage in July 2006 and received the same wonderful welcome referred to in the previous reviews. Everybody is treated as very special . The accomodation is superb and the breakfasts unbelievably appetising. On our departure I described Fern Cottage as my ideal for Heaven if I am fortunate enough to get there in the hopefully very distant future. In the meantime we are shortly due to enjoy our third visit and look forward to plenty more. Hollis and June

My wife and I have been visiting Fern Cottage since 2005. We attend the Badminton Horse Trials every year and we always receive a warm welcome from Sue and Pete. The breakfasts set you up for the day and once we return (very tired!) we can relax and enjoy the lovely rooms. We hope to continue visiting for a long time to come.

Me and my wife visited Fern Cottage in march of this year. I have to say it was one of the most friendly and homely places we have ever stayed in. The breakfasts are to die for and both Sue and Pete made a stay one to remember. We will most certainly return there as the location is idea if you want to feel at home in Bath. Thanks Sue and Pete see you soon. x

Margaret and I arrived late in the day to Fern Cottage and were welcomed wonderfully by Sue and Pete. After showing us around and settling us in Sue came by to offer us scones and tea - a welcome repast after a long day. Over the next three days we were treated to wonderful breakfasts including the most amazing bacon, wonderful kidneys, delicately smoked haddock and delicious jam and marmalade, all locally produced or made by Sue and Pete. Sue also let us know that they were making late meals available, and for the next two evenings we came back to personally prepared quiches or cheese plates, beautiful green salads and the best potato salad I've had, at remarkable prices. The experience was the most welcoming and best value B&B we've ever stayed at, whether in Britain or in Canada where we come from. Thanks so much for your warmth, hospitality and of course for the wonderful food. Stephen and Margaret

Phil and I spent the weekend of our 10th Wedding anniversay at Fern Cottage we would have not have been treated any better at a top class hotel Sue and Pete help make our anniversary really special, their friendliness and hospitality was second to none, the breakfast was superb and kept us going all day, the suppers were also yummy with all locally used produce. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked to go back in September, which we are sure we will enjoy as much as the visit we have already had.

We've just stayed at Fern Cottage for a long weekend and cannot recommend it enough. Sue and Pete were both genuinely hospitable and helpful. The breakfasts were wonderful and kept us full up all day, so there was never a need for lunch! We didn't have the picnic lunch, which was available, but did order the cheese and the quiche platters for our evening arrival. Both were excellent value with tasty fresh ingredients. Sue and Pete have put a lot of thought into running an business with a emphasis on homemade or local produce and a strong green ethics. We will certainly be visiting again.

We are currently staying at Fern Cottage. This is a return visit our first visit being 4+ years ago. We enjoyed our first visit so much the first time we have just been waiting to come back. It was so very much worth the wait! The breakfast has just gotten better where it needed no improvement. We feel like Pete & Sue are our old friends and plan to continue returning to this pieceful cottage in the future.

Sue & Pete are two of the nicest people you ever could have the fortune to meet. Within a short period of time they have achieved the very best accolades that this industry can ever hope to achieve. They truely deserve it all, and we wish them continued success. We recommend that you treat yourself to a B&B experience you thought could never exist.

My husband and I stayed at fern cottage and the breakfast was the best I have ever tasted all there food is locally sourced and they grow there own fruit and veg and have free range rescue chickens. Sue and Pete are very friendly and have won lots of awards for their food and the way they treat their guest just like a member of the family. On our arrival there we were greeted with tea and home made scones and shortbread which were wonderful.
