I have been eating at this restaurant since Sam opened it 30 years ago and I have yet to find another which matches its food. I can only describe it in the words of a Danish friend of mine who, although his English was excellent, really fought to find the correct words to describe the food. He came up with 'a symphony of flavours'. Although now departed, his words still stick with me and I can't find anything that better describes the food served in this restaurant. The new decor, since the refurb, adds to the overall ambience and everyone is made to feel welcome as Sam, the proprietor/chef regards it as inviting people into his home.
The best Indian Restauraunt I've been to. First class food and service using locally sourced products. I'll be moving out of the area in the next few weeks but will be returning specifically to eat at The Curry Corner. A "must visit" for anyone who enjoys food!
Curry Corner has been a really great place for years, it being a local restaurant we were in danger of taking for granted the excellent food and friendly family atmosphere. It was closed for a major refit and refurb, then we found out just how good it was compared to the rest! On re-opening they've managed to make a really good restaurant a modern exciting indian restaurant that is truly second to none
A very friendly and comfortable environment. There is a wide range of very well priced Indian cuisine, professionally cooked and served by helpful staff. Well worth making a visit
This is an excellent family ran Bangladeshi restaurant. Sam and his wife Saleha first opened the doors to the Curry Corner over 30 years ago - back in 1977! Sam - the chef and proprietor and his wife Saleha have always done all the cooking and it is top rate. Sam is now nearly 60 but he continues to serve his guests every night. Everything is freshly cooked using only quality ingredients. Whilst the menu reflects delicious food from across Bangladeshi and India, excellent local produce is always featured. For instance Gloucestershire chicken, local farm fresh eggs including duck eggs, local game and cheese. The food is classic - nothing faddish. As time has gone on the menu has been getting better and better. Even the spices are freshly ground and it is obvious in the quality of each curry which has a unique flavour. The quality of this restaurant goes beyond the food however. Sam's son Joshua is in charge of looking after guests front of house. He is charming, friendly and attentive. Sam's daughter Monrusha - - also has a hands on approach and recently redesigned the restaurant. The new interior is super chic - a contemporary expression of the Bangladeshi culture with cool handmade tapestries, antique palatial carvings and saris - very chilled and relaxing indeed. It is extremely rare to find a restaurant of this calibre, let alone an "Indian" restaurant and yet the menu is extremely well priced which means that anyone can afford to eat at the restaurant. It is clear that they clearly enjoy running their restaurant and that
