The atmosphere is splendid. The culinary expertise of Mr Buckingham is second to none. The Staff are friendly and always helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Our 30th wedding anniversary celebration was made extra special. Thank you for everything.

We have found Buckingham's to be an absolutely superlative venue for that really Special Occasion, because of the fastidious care taken in all aspects of their service. The absolutely succulent food on offer, is complemented by service which is second to none!

Nick's enthusiasm about and knowledge of food are boundless. Even after all his years cooking he still gets excited with a new ingredient, method or gadget, this last he will probably have made himself. I have had two cooking courses with and I learn so much more than how to cook. On Mount Olympus he would be the God of Food.

Neeps & tatties, the best lobster sauce I have tasted and the ability to make the simplest food taste wonderful. Great home made breads and ice creams, some of the combinations are left field but always work beautifully. Glyn

the most special element of buckinghams for me was the proffesionalism of the staff and ther commitment to making you feel at home, and to learn that they were all related just confirmed that i was eating and staying with one of the finest family run buissnesses in the country the food was exellent better than any other establishment i have visited in derbyshire by a country mile. They couldn't of made me feel more at home than they did, a fantastic hotel run with a anormous spirit i would recommend this hotel for the comfort and food to any of my friends or colleagues.

We made friends very quickly and after dining at The One Table Restuarant and The Clowns Conservatory all I can say is the food is excellent in both venues and is only surpassed by the welcome and professional service that is provided by all of the family. Well done to all of the family.

Just one table and no printed menu or blackboard , yes Buckingham's is unique. Just let Nick know any food intolerances or what you don't like and he will create a superlative meal using locally sourced produce. A meal at this restaurant is the closest thing to food heaven - each course lovingly presented and described by Nick as only he can.

Review by Martin Edmunds: I have twice had the table at Buckinghams for friends. The last occasion was my wife's 50th and she and her best friend spent a memorable day sourcing and preparing food under Nick's guidance for the sumptuous banquet, complimented by exceptional wines, we enjoyed that night. We stayed the night in a lovely room and had a superb breakfast the next day. I have bored many people rigid with praise of the establishment. It is well worth the drive from Doncaster to spend an evening in this friendly establishment that can produce service and food to the highest standard. This is not a `stuffed shirt' restaurant - it has a refreshing informality for the level of cuisine.

I have known Nick and his family for over 20 years.. His perfectionism in buying presenting and cooking fine foods is bordering on fanaticism.. The food is always fantastic, as well as his refurbished hote Rich Ryalls

One word that describes Buckinghams is unique. Its the same excellent service whether there's two of you or a party of ten. The food is from another world freshly cooked local produce at its best. After the delights of Nick's cooking relax in the lounge and discuss the occasion with with friends old and new.

Where else in East Midlands (or possibly the UK) can you enjoy such a fabulous Three Hours or so. From the welcome @ around 8pm. to departure at sometime after 11. (one normally forgets exactly the time of leaving). Have been about half a dozen times Business/Pleasure and recommended to lots of people Food, Drinks, (try one of Nick's huge range of unusual bottled beers for a change with your introductory Mini-Dishes)......No, it ain't cheap...But then it's not McDonald's is it!!!!!!

I travel a lot with work and this hotel is the one of the best I have ever come across. The attention to every little detail is amazing. The Buckingham family are so friendly and make every guest feel special. The food is amazing and Nick and Will cater to every need. Tina and the girls ensure that every room is immaculate. A proper little home from home. Just what every business person needs when working away from home. 10/10

The Horsman Family We found' Buckinghams' by accident. Nick and Tina gave us such a lovely welcome. We had a brilliant time. We will be travelling there again soon from the North East just for a night out with great food.

How many other local restaurants could create a sumptuous menu for a family celebration that would satisfy the tastebuds of three generations from 80 down to 11 years old? Nick's passion for cooking must have worked magic as it was empty plates all round. Nick,and Tina are the ultimate professionals and Buckingham's is unique in our locality. We'll be back!

Nick and Tina and their lovely family really are the nicest people you could meet and this is really what makes staying and eating at Buckinghams quite exceptional. The food is quite brilliant and the descriptive way it is delivered to you makes the whole experience. My only problem is that a change of job gives me far less opportunity to stay with the Buckinghams.

Nick and Tina are wondefull host i have spent some time working in the kitchens and Nick was a delight to work for, his love and passion for food inspired me so much I actuall gave my time free just so i could learn from them i have also taken my friends to dinner there and they were amazed at the quality and variety of the food there general reaction was "eaten like kings and queens" Truly an inspiring place to eat, the produce so fresh that it is only hours before Nick decides what the menu will be that night as he selects the finest ingreidents available that day then chooses the best recipes to suit from his vast knowledge of food Fond memorys, my only regret is i live to far away to sample the delights food heaven Karl

Great Place! Great Food! Its a must if you have never been .........

You'll never get a good meal at this place! They are all fabulous. We keep Buckinghams for special occasions, and it is lovely to go out with the family and have your own chef for the evening. The whole evening is a treat, from being welcomed with canapes to staggering out of the door, several hours later, a few pounds heavier, but certainly satisfied. If you've never been here, go - I promise you won't regret it.
