Coleshill Organics
Selling: Fruit & Veg
Coleshill Organics have cut out the middleman, and created a system whereby they produce and deliver fresh organic vegetables straight to your door, and have a small shop, which additionally sells eggs from their hens. They take satisfaction from the direct access to their customers, constantly asking for feedback in order to maintain good relationships and educate the public about organic food. They supply local schools through the Food for Life Programme, and have introduced at least a thousand visiting school children to their range of over eighty vegetables, to encourage them to want to eat organically in the school day and at home.

Its so true what others have said about it being Christmas every time i get the box. I enjoy the variety and challenges the contents give me. There are regularly delicious recipes with the box and the new website give many more ideas (and helps you identify the odd thing!) Its fantastic the food doesn't come far (whilst appreciating some thing don't grow locally!) and the packaging is all recyclable. It helps me do as much as i can for the environment at the same time as getting fantastic food you would otherwise pay a fortune for at the dreaded supermarkets.
Excellent food, delivered to the door. The vegetables are excellent quality, varied, seasonal and interesting, encouraging experimentation with a cook book.
Food with flavour almost grown on your doorstep! Committed and friendly staff who are part of the solution to the world's environmental problems. Great service.
We joined the fruit and veg box schemes in April and have been really impressed with the service. There are always good basic staples such as carrots, onions and spuds, but it is genuinely exciting to see what else will be in the boxes. Our meal repertoire has improved in line with the changing selection in the boxes. Okay, so we've had the odd "what the hell is that?" moment, but the new and improved website even helps idiots like us to identify the more exotic ingredients. These people are truly local heroes.
top quality produce, delivered to your door. Commitment to the the enviorment. dedicated to growing veg that is organic and tasty. Friendly and very hard working staff. Very fair price. Every week a wonderful treat of veg is delivered.
What makes Sonia and Pete's business so special is the passion they both have towards organic and local produce; the knowledge they have is passed on through recipes / newsletters in their boxes, face to face in their wonderful shop and through working with local schools to providing an annual open day enabling a glimpse into their life. They are incredibly hard working but I know they gain great satisfaction doing what they believe in and providing local people with the tastiest vegetables - with the knowledge of knowing how and where they have been grown.
A wonderful vegetable box scheme, and great open days - traceable foods and as few food miles as possible
The best, freshest vegetables on your doorstep and only grown just round the corner. You can't get better than that.
We have been receiving a box each week from the start of the scheme, and wouldn't be without the fresh vegetables, fruit and eggs. Pete and Sonia have worked so hard to get boxes to more and more local people. The open days are great and showed me how much passion goes into the planning and growing the food we are so lucky to get to eat.
This place is truely magical, a six acre walled garden in the heart of the village overflowing with fruit, vegetables and flowers....oh yes and chickens. customers are actively encouraged to explore and see where their food comes from.
I have been receiving a weekly box for nearly 2 yrs now and have never been disappointed with the quality. The open day last summer was superb with friendly staff showing us around and willing to answer all questions. I feel lucky to be living close to Coleshill.
I have been receiving a fruit and veg box from coleshill organics for about 5 years - I have never been disappointed with the contents - a superb box scheme - I feel really lucky to live so close to such a superb scheme.
Good quality and variety of locally grown produce at a competitive price - what more would you want?
Sonia and Pete who run Coleshill are so enthusiastic and passionate about their produce, it's almost infectious. The box scheme is fab, their fruit and fab always taste superb, what's more the fruit and veg smell like they are supposed to and the added stalks, leaves and even the dirt on them add to the charm. They are the central part of the open day at Coleshill and it is well worth a visit - I have never been so excited about polytunnels full of veggies! Every week when I get the box it is like Christmas and a full stocking, with the anticipation of what it will be bursting with. Since I have been on board, I have tried heaps of new things, the newsletter and recipes make you feel part of their growing world and I can't sing their praises enough. Their team is friendly and highly knowledgeable and they are always keen to give tips to encourage everyone not only to buy their produce but grow their own.
Fresh, tasty produce all year round and local, with minimal food miles. The box teaches you to live with the seasons' produce.
Delicious, very fresh produce, I can't fault these people.
Coleshill sell organic vegetables, fruit and eggs in form of a box scheme and a very small shop which is very modest. The box scheme and their ethical approach to business is there most unique asset. They try where ever possible to only employ local people and of course they are organic so have minimal impact on the environment. They also trying to implement an apprenticeship scheme to get young people back in to this area which Peter Richardson the owner and main grower feels is essential to pass on this way of forward thinking.
