Dragons and Daffodils Cakes

I order my daughters birthday cakes from Dragons and Daffodils. My eldest is 14 and my youngest is 4, very different in age and personality but one thing they have in common is that they are the envy of all their friends when I bring out the birthday cake. The cakes are always spectacular both to look at and to taste.

I used Dragons and Daffodils for my wedding cake back in May 2006. They were absolutely fantastic. They created exactly the cake I wanted, using fresh flowers from the local florist which created my bouquet to ensure they matched, as well as selecting matching crystals for the cake. They also added details such as tying a flower to the cake knife and flower petals on the cake table. I couldn't recommed Dragons & Daffodils and higher - they were also very reasonable!

I have known Rhianydd since she first started dabbling with sugarcraft as a hobby. The success of Dragons & Daffodils is testament to Rhi's imagination, innovation and constant quest for perfection which was evident right from the outset. Anything less is not good enough for Rhi!

Dragons and Daffodils designed my wedding cake (October 2005) from a blank piece of paper. Rhianydd asked us what we wanted, and began to draw every little detail. We had a 3 tier cake (madeira, fruit and chocolate), which was the best cake we have ever tasted! Each tier had different designs, our names, our wedding date, patterns (exactly as we wanted them), butterflies. And most importantly she spoke with my florist from Cardiff, to match EXACTLY the type and colour of rose in my bouquet! I still have the design sheet she created, and often look at it - my cake was printed in the national Wedding Cakes magazine, which was a lovely keepsake. It was so special to have something we wanted - the detail was amazing. Also Rhianydd was very well priced, and I am so pleased that we chose her. She ensured the cake was set up correctly at my venue on the day, and it looked a dream! Everybody commented on how lovely it was, and the taste was truly unbelieveable!!!! Our cake was better than any of the footballers photographed in OK and Hello magazines last week!

First of all Rhianydd was so polite and prompt in her communication that it was a pleasure purchasing from her. The product was first class with such attention to detail. More importantly even when postal disaster struck, Rhianydd came up trumps and provided a replacement free of charge. She genuinely felt distraught that the iced dragons had been damaged. I collected my wedding cake from the studio today. Rhianydd and the girls have done a fantastic job. The attention to detail is superb, every little aspect we requested over the past few months has been fulfilled to a truly professional level. Everyone who has seen the cake so far has been amazed by it. I'm sure we'll get the same reaction from our guests at the wedding on saturday. Rhianydd and her team were so helpful- (I bombared her with e-mails asking every little detail), so when it came to my choosing them to prepare my wedding cake we had no doubt we had picked the right place. First off there are some amazing examples of their work in the shop windows. Photos are one thing, but seeing the cakes in real life brings home how talented they are. They all enjoy their work and this shows. Our cake was amazing, everyone commented on it at the wedding, and the fact that Rhianydd took the time to do all the small details by hand really shone through, it was a work of art! Plus it was excellent value which is an unfortunate but necessary factor to consider when planning a wedding! Right down to the fact that one of the ladies helped my Mam and I carry the cake to the car, they really do genuinely care! I would not hesitate to recommend Dragons & daffodils to anyone looking for amazingly well designed and crafted cakes for any occasion.

So helpful! Sometimes children want the most peculiar characters on their cakes. When I contacted Dragons & Daffodils for a Peppa Pig cake the person I spoke to said "no problem". It was fantastic, down to the smallest detail. My daughter was over the moon and everybody commented on the delicious cake and how moist the sponge was. I just wish I'd known about them when I had my wedding cake made.

We ordered our wedding cake from Dragons & Daffodils. We drove all the over from Bristol to attend their open day and it was worth it! We took along a picture of what we wanted and the cake was created exactly to our specifications. We can truly say that this was the best value purchase of the whole wedding!

Dragons and Daffodils made my wedding cake in 2003. It was perfect - exactly how I imagined, and it tasted great too! When I wanted to order a birthday cake for my husbands 40th birthday earlier this year, I knew exactly where to go even though I live about 50 miles away. Again, everything was perfect, great attention to detail and the sponge was delicious. If you want a cake that looks great and tastes delicious then this is the place to go!

Dragons and Daffodils make and sell the most beautiful occasion cakes. They made my wedding cake for me this year and took the time and trouble to answer my e mails promptly and with great detail. They are incredibly accommodating and take on board their customers' ideas making 'what ifs' reality. The cakes speak for themselves. Beautiful attention to detail in their sugar craft and wonderfully tasting. Added to all this, the weekend I married a freak snow storm fell over south Wales. The cake however, arrived on time with no additional stress for me. All the guests were wowed by it, as was I. A great local company doing Wales proud.
