The Cheese Shed

Cheesemonger

Selling: Cheese / Dairy

With a range of over eighty cheeses, Ian and James, the masterminds behind this online cheese shop maintain that the shed is real, though (unsurprisingly) it is not used to store the cheese. Trading both traditional cheese from established makers and small artisan cheeses, The Cheese Shed embraces and celebrates many varieties of West country cheese.

Having researched several wedding cheese suppliers, the cheese shed were by far the most efficient. They responded quickly to my emails and listened to our slighlty unconventional requirements. Really enjoyed meeting Ian and James in Bovey Tracey and sampled some wonderful cheese. I feel completely confident in this company and am looking forward to raving about them at our wedding.

From placing the order for the Dorset selection of cheeses for my father's 65th Birthday to the delivery was flawless. Very simple process, great communication from Ian particulary as the floods had cut off most of Worcestershire and they did not want the cheese to arrive late! The cheeses were delicious I have been told. All done online sitting on my laptop in New York! Fantastic!

It was a pleasure to buy from them. They not only found the cheese that I had fallen in love with whilst on holiday, but they knew all about it and shipped it almost immediately. Well done!

A selection of cheeses had been sent to me from The Cheese Shed for my birthday as a gift. All I can say is thay are beyond fantastic, the cheese has to be the best I have ever had, so much so that in a matter of days it was all gone! The gift was personalised and I could not have asked for a better gift. I will be using The Cheese Shed my self for both personal supplies as well as gifts.

What could be better than being able to send your long distance lover a heart shaped Godminster Cheddar? The lovely Ian organised my cheesy gift to be delivered in the Netherlands, and even gave me a refund when the postage worked out to be less than I'd paid! What's more, I have tried their cheese after receiving a gift from a friend in the past - and it is yummy proper cheese - definately good enough to send to another cheese producing country! Hooray for the Cheese Shed!

These guys are fab - I wanted a package that was not on the website & organised with 2 days to go to a birthday. It wasn't a problem & emails were answered all over the weekend. Cheese arrived exactly where, when & what I wanted! Thanks Ian.

I bought a cheese box for my partner on his birthday and ordered in advance to be delivered on the day. It arrived on time, beautifully packaged and presented and the selection of cheeses was wonderful. The only "downside" is I now have orders to buy him one for every future occasion!

I sent some cheese (through the internet) to a friend for a birthday and it arrived on the day I wanted, it was beautifully presented and it made it in one piece to rural Herefordshire! I would definitely recommend this company and will be using it again. Well done to the Cheese Shed!

I was putting together a hamper as a gift for a friend when I came across the Cheese Shed website. On offer was a variety of excellent cheeses at reasonable prices. I placed an order, received email confirmation and delivery details. The whole process was excellent and the cheese, I have since been told was superb! In fact I'm about to place another order as I've decided to make up another hamper as a wedding gift. Many thanks to all at Cheese Shed for an excellent service and great tasting Cheese!

I ordered online for a special 80th Birthday gift for a fanatical cheese lover. The service was fantastic, communication was friendly and the cheese was absolutely amazing...according to my father-in-law, as he scoffed the lot himself and we didn't get a look-in!! We will be ordering for ourselves and others in future.

I ordered a gift box from The Cheese Shed for my boss who was leaving recently and he was absolutely delighted with the quality and selection he received. My order was dealt with quickly and efficiently and I had a special request for a specific cheese to be included and I received a very friendly and helpful response from The Cheese Shed. I am thinking of sending out Cheese Shed gift boxes to all my friends at Christmas.

Leigh2 Leigh2 Posted 29 Jun 2007 1:25 PM

I won a cheese box with 7 different cheeses in and i would recommend The Cheese Shed to anyone and everyone. Ian was in contact at all times, so kind and polite and the cheese was still chilled when delivered and in perfect condition. I will certainly being buying from them in the future.

I ordered a 'cheese cake' from Ian for my graduation. He spent time helping me to get the right cheeses with the right sizes to make an amazing cake. Nothing was too much trouble and the selection, ordering and delivery process are second to none.

Ian's passion, knowledge and attention to detail are truly amazing. We ordered our "cheesy wedding cake" from the cheese shed and not only was the cheese beatufilly presented Ian's recommendations wowed even those not inclined to believe that British cheeses could compare with Continental cheeses!

Nat5 Nat5 Posted 24 Jun 2007 5:15 PM

These people could not have tried harder to get me my cheese in tip-top condition. I was also delighted with the attention to recycling shown by the packaging. Don't take my word, though, try them for yourself

I used the Cheese Shed to send my brother in law a present last year as he is very difficult to buy for. He was thrilled with the way the cheese was wrapped and that each cheese had a card explaining where the cheese came from etc. My brother in law and sister were so impressed that they have also used the Cheese Shed for gifts . I am yet to receive a gift from the Cheese Shed myself, perhaps I will order some for myself!

I wanted to order my husband something special for Valentines Day, so I ordered from The Cheese Shed a heart shaped cheese covered in red wax. Not only did it look great when it arrived but the cheese itself was amazing. The Cheese Shed are in my Bookmarks for life.

Ian Wellens is always helpful and very knowledgeable about the cheeses. My deliveries are always on the day requested and the cheeses are always in perfect condition. Whenever I serve them they get their own rave reviews!

I bought my cheese wedding cake online from The Cheese Shed. They were the friendliest, most enthusiastic company that I came across who offer this service. The cheese was delivered exactly on time - fresh and in perfect condition - and was completely delicious. My husband is Cornish - so he was really impressed that I managed to get a cheese wedding cake made almost entirely of Cornish cheese (I reserved the top Somerset Goat's Cheese tier for myself). Lovely, lovely people - it's a bit of a mad thing to say, but they really do care about cheese.
