just recently finding out i had food intolerances to wheat and dairy, finding somewhere where i could eat out became a bit of a chore for me. but alas, there was lucky number three... with a wide choice of wheat free and gluten free breads, extremely delish cakes, and even soya milk lattes, this place is heaven!!

Well the food is careefully chosen by the owners and so the staff have a great knowledge of the food they are selling. Combine that with the friendly approachable staff and you have a great little place to get yourself a coffee or a sandwich. it's a must visit if you are visitiing saltaire.

this a place for friends. it is the hub of the community: a place to meet, discuss and participate. it is what a local shop should be all about: warm, inviting and personal. i love this shop.

moonyellow moonyellow Posted 28 Jun 2007 7:01 PM

Guilt-free pleasures! Magic Number Three is simply the best store in Saltaire. Not only is it in a great location it has amazing produce and the best cakes. It's such a wonderful little place - the only problem with it is I always end up buying more than I should as everything is just too yummy :O)

Melley Melley Posted 28 Jun 2007 3:29 PM

This has to be one of my favorite shops in Saltaire, i can't resist going in every time i pass for one of their delicious cakes and a sneaky look around the art which is one of the things that makes this place so special, along with the constantly welcoming staff.

hamster2 hamster2 Posted 28 Jun 2007 11:35 AM

One of the most attractive and appealing food shops in Saltaire, offering organic and fair trade merchandise with friendly and knowledgeabe staff. A definite hero on my list.

Minnie2 Minnie2 Posted 28 Jun 2007 11:18 AM

I would highly recommend this delicatessen/cafe/organic food shop - it has a chilled out vibe to it. The friendly staff, top notch coffee and locally sourced organic food products make it one of Saltaire's top attractions.

qijun qijun Posted 26 Jun 2007 6:11 PM

The magic of Number 3? Wholesome scrumptous nosh; cheerful faces of the staff and customers who can't keep away! 3 more things that make this place so special? Locally produced food; Fairtrade and ethical trading.

savi1 savi1 Posted 25 Jun 2007 11:15 PM

In a world of cold cut thoat consumerism this shop provides a ray of light, consistently rising the hope that moralist businesses can still exist. Where a fair price means both for the producer and the consumer. What a refreshing difference, where food is grabbing to be the best it can be and where attention to detail is number 1.

cslching cslching Posted 25 Jun 2007 10:37 PM

Warm and cheery welcome; THE BEST coffee; tempting snacks and delicious cakes - doodle pads on the tables - not just for kids! it has a buzz - people who haven't met might strike up a conversation ... soothing and stimulating at the same time.

finbarre finbarre Posted 22 Jun 2007 10:03 AM

An ever-changing display of fairly traded food and crafts, friendly ownership and the buzz that comes from experiencing good food, art and conversation all at the same time.

Lau1 Lau1 Posted 21 Jun 2007 6:47 PM

Whenever we visit Saltaire, we ALWAYS call in here at Magic Number Three not only to sample the wonderful tempting home made food, but also because of the genuinely warm welcome we receive from the people who run it. Sorry we do not actually live in Saltaire(we live in Norway!) so that we could call in there every day.

nin1 nin1 Posted 21 Jun 2007 3:54 PM

Creamy cappucino with cinnamon, rocket-topped peppery humous & carrot salad on foccacia, impossible choices of locally baked cakes - but the spiced bread & butter pudding beats them all - and all served with smiles!

ava1 ava1 Posted 21 Jun 2007 11:03 AM

Stylishly set out merchandise with relaxed, friendly & knowledgeable staff. You can enjoy delicious cakes and coffee which don't have any nasties in them! The shop does a great job at promoting local produce too.

Great coffees, cakes and fresh organic bread - and friendly staff.

stevebrimble stevebrimble Posted 17 Jun 2007 4:52 PM

Great place for a variety of locally sourced produce (e.g. honey made by bees living locally, using flowers growing in the valley), as well as good coffee (organic, free-trade etc.) and the people there really are just totally jolly!

Mr Hemingway Mr Hemingway Posted 17 Jun 2007 9:29 AM

I stop here for a coffee and sandwiches to go when I'm catching the train at Saltaire. The sandwiches are scrumptious and moist - vegetarian and full of interesting ingredients you'd never think would go together but do. Their cakes are delicious too, my favourite is the raspberry and coconut bar. The whole shop is full of interesting foods and crafts too. There is seating if you fancy eating in and shopping with your eyes while taking in the tantalising aromas. On the way home from work you can pick up olives, pesto and cheeses for a quick evening meal - and more cake of course. Visit them when you visit Saltaire - you will not be disappointed - the magic is compelling.

You can get the best skinny cap before dashing off to catch a train next door - and it is also a delightful, tranquil place to take a well-earned break with a coffee and delicious organic cake and read the paper. They also do the best sandwiches for miles.

Forget the rest of the village - the mill, the rows of listed cottages, the pubs, restaurants, and parks - Magic Number 3 is the only reason needed to visit Saltaire. This is one of the finest small food retailers in the country, run with passion for quality fresh organic food. It's also a lovely place to while away some time during the day.

chewmacka chewmacka Posted 04 Jun 2007 2:28 PM

This shop is also a small tea room. Every day they make their own fresh sarnies and salads which are gorgeous. I can't resist going in whenever I'm in Saltaire. They also sell lots of organic, fairtrade, gluten-free and other specialist food to buy.
