Freebird produces free range poultry and is a local business run by Nick Kingdon. The farm is situated on a smallholding in the beautiful north Devon countryside. The birds roam on the lush grass and are housed in traditional arcs made by Nick himself. They are reared without pesticides or chemicals. Nick rears chickens, guinea fowl and geese and turkey for the festive season. Nick is dedicated to producing good quality local food and prepares and cooks his own products in the farm kitchen. Freebird products are made sourcing local ingredients where possible and contain no additives. Nick is often adding new recipes and products and so the product list varies. They include chicken liver pate which is often on the menu at a local restaurant, chicken and leek pasties, lemon chicken tarts, Chicken and crown prince squash soup, chicken burgers, goujons and nuggets that even Jamie Oliver would be proud of! Nick has a permanent pitch at Barnstaple Pannier market and also sells at a different farmers market each saturday of the week. He supplies poultry and products to a local restaurant and to two farm shops. Nick is committed to promoting good quality local food within the North Devon area and has set up his own farmers market in Braunton village.
