Rosewood Farms, a Wholesome Food Association farm, takes a holistic approach to producing their Dexter beef, Kerry Hill lamb & mutton and rare breed pork in the Lower Derwent Valley. The 'salad bar' grazing system produces the finest quality beef available. The cattle and sheep graze on chemical free pastures at Rosewood Farm. The pigs are fed on their own mix of home & locally grown cereals. All stock is slaughtered & butchered by small, local award winning family butcher, less than four miles from the farm. Farm gate sales: half animals are in high demand so pre-order only at present. New on-farm premises planned for 2008 to allow for internet ordering along with free local delivery.

I consider myself fortunate to have been one of Rosewood Farms very first "customers". I have very high standards when buying my meat, and Rosewood Farms excels in animal welfare and husbandry. The meat looks good, tastes delicious and is positively the best you can get, due, I'm sure, to the love, care and hard work put into their wellbeing by the brothers.

Have only tried the mutton so far but it was very very good, will definitely buy from Rosewood farms again.

Have heard great things about Rob's meat and the way he farms, and though I usually buy locally, I am looking forward to the arrival of half a mutton from Rosewood in the near future.

I had a very tasty pig from Rosewood last year. Lovely condition animal, good conformation, excellent meat.

Good enough to eat! I feel priveleged to be involved in a minor way. The salad is lush for the moos!!

It is not often that you come across a place like this, Rob showed us around we saw his livestock and land, what came over very strongly was his passion for his animals and the environment. We went home with half of a Dexter steer. It is all gone now - needless to say it was wonderful beef. Oh, and he makes a smashing cup of tea too!

Rob really cares about the animals he rears. He produces wonderful meat too, you can taste the care that the animals have had!

Fantastic tasting meat from properly cared for animals. Very highly recommended.

It's not often you find beef that's only been fed on grass, mutton from named breeds and traditional pigs making the best pork all on one site, but when you do it's even better when the guys behind the operation battle against conventional wisdom to maintain a more traditional and sympathetic way of farming.

The guys at Rosewood farm care more about their animals, sustainable farming and their local environment a lot more than they care about profit. Their meat has the added advantage of being, very, very tasty.

Rob Rowe's meat is astoundingly good - I've been buying from him in bulk for over a year now and have been feasting on the beef, pork and lamb he produces - All from rare breeds - To be honest although there are some superb meat producers more local to me I would be very reluctant to buy my meat from anywhere else Thoroughly recommended and a really nice guy to deal with as well
