Comfortable atmosphere. High quality regional food and excellent art & crafts. Every village should have a shop like this in it.

The proprieter is very friendly in giving advice as to quality of the food and the hampers that she creates. The hampers are very good in content and presentation, and only the finest Northumbrian goods are used.

I will gladly drive for over 2 hours to sit and have a hot chocolate here. I know of no better place. Great atmosphere, personal touch and interesting selection of products. Well done Rebecca.

The village of Newbiggin by the Sea is getting a new beach, a new statue in the bay and a new lease of life. This shop is as much of a beacon to Newbiggin as the beach and the artwork. I am watching everything at newbigginbay.co.uk and when you do vist take a look around this shop, it is full of regional foods and drinks, crammed with locally painted pictures, photo's, sculptures and other crafts. It is more than a regional food centre, it is a real centre for regional pride. Fantastic

People come from far and wide to buy cheeses and other locally produce fayre at this fascinating little shop and cafe. The owner has a pleasant manner and her pride shines through, hence the shops name, Pride of Northumbria.

Rebecca has brought exactly what we need in this area. Her commitment to, and passion for excellence in local produce is putting local producers on the map. Her hampers are luxury personified and the choice available in the shop is fantastic. Whether you want some delicious delicatessen food or a memorable piece of local art, this is the place to come. Oh, and by the way, while you decide, you can partake of the finest hot chocolate money can buy, and this is no idle claim. Well done Rebecca, long may you prosper.

A touch of class and luxury - just what the village needed. Rebecca provides a poke in the eye to anyone who thinks the north east is all pies and whippets! The best hot chocolate ever and lovely local foods. The salad dressings are essential - go for it Rebecca!

We used Pride of Northumbria to supply Xmas gifts to our valued customers across the UK. In all of our years we have never received so much happy feedback from our customers regarding the quality of these gifts. Giving a regional gift of such high quality has made us proud to be northeners.

This shop is fantastic - delicious hot chocolate and cake, a little piece of luxury! The range of local products available highlights the Northumbrian tradition of good food, and the high quality artwork is another treat for the visitor. Well done Rebecca you deserve to win!

I work for a bank based in the Midlands but chose to use Pride of Nothumbria for our Christmas hampers because of the passion shown by Rebecca and the clear quality of the products. Rebecca goes above and beyond to select the best quality local suppliers and products for her hampers and that certainly shines through. We had fantastic feedback from everyone that received a hamper and we'd definitely use Rebecca's hampers again.

Claire1982 Claire1982 Posted 22 May 2007 9:45 AM

I received one of these hampers as a gift last year. It made me realise what a wealth of local produce was in the area and I now buy many local items thanks to this amazing high quality gift. It is my pleasure to thank you with this vote.

The hot chocolate is to die for

Stevie27 Stevie27 Posted 16 May 2007 1:32 PM

I love the gentle smell of coffee as I enter this shop, the quiet ambience and the gentle chatter around. I sit and sip a perfect espresso and I know, for a few moments at least, that all is well. Gazing around the walls is a delight. A vast array of paintings from local artists and shelf upon sheelf of interesting foods - from bags of organic flour to exotic oils and rich fruit cakes. Definitely a place in which one can browse. They say that one shop can make a difference to a town. This one really does.
