Cheesemonger

Selling: Cheese / Dairy

In the family since 1910, Hill End Farm is now in the hands of the fifth generation of a long line of cheese-makers. Using milk from their own pedigree herd of British Fresians, Ceri Cryer makes a range of traditional soft and hard cheeses. Ceri’s Cheese also offers two hard cheeses, notably the Wiltshire Loaf, which thanks to Ceri is as popular today as it was in the eighteenth century. Chad Cryer uses the whey left over from the cheese making process to feed his traditionally reared pigs. Chad keeps bees and won the award for best tasting honey at the Bath and West Show. Ceri was the World Honey Queen and is currently the British Honey Queen.

Ceri & Chad are a true inspiration to anyone interested in honest rural living and fine food. They have created two wonderful businesses that deserve the 2008 Local Food Hero Award. Ceri's Cheese is second to none for quality & taste. Since I bought my first jar of Chad's Honey, I have flatly refused to buy honey from any other producer!

I'm a big fan of Ceri's cheese. Particularly the Brinkworth Blue and Seven Pepper curd cheese. Mmmm! Perfect on a digestive biscuit, but it's not to share! I'd definitely recommend Ceri's award winning cheese:o)

ceri and chad are extremely hardworking and professional in their approach to their work and take a pride in producing the highest quality and best tasting cheeses, honey and pork.

Ceris fresh cheeses are wonderful, soft, mild and delicious. The peppered versions are lovely with a slice of good fruitcake (a habit I picked up from my Lancashire parents). Makes a good quick lunchtime snack or supper.

Some fabulous cheeses with bags more flavour and character than those dull yellow bricks you get in the supermarket. My personal favourites are the North Wiltshire Loaf and Malmesbury Mold... and while you're at it, why not get a jar or two of their local honey for a real taste of the Wiltshire countryside.

Buying this cheese from the monthly farmers market is such a treat.

All Ceri's cheeses are delicious, and made with love.

Ceri deserves a nomination if only for the historical perspective of her achievement. She is now the only producer of North Wiltshire cheese, which at one point was one of the most popular cheeses in England. Mentioned several times in the novels of Jane Austen it was far more popular and acclaimed than double or single Gloucester, and virtually every farm & smallholding in North Wiltshire produced North Wiltshire Loaf for the London market. More power to her elbow for reviving this forgotten local delicacy.

Fantastic range of cheese, and now doing a scrumptious range of hot panini's as well. I hope you're still useing the signs I made at the SB Extravaganza Ceri! They took me long enough! And I got a free panini out of it :). Well done Ceri, I live on a dairy farm, and I am lactose intolerant, but eating your cheese is worth the pain of the day after.

Top quality cheeses!

Nice cheese but not sure if it is worth all the hype and money. The Mold cheese was very expensive compared to similar brands. All the cheeses are quite soft. If I was to pick the better cheese I'd go for North Wilts Loaf for the tang.

Ceri's cheese is an excellent, genuinely local, family business. The quality of the cheese is superb - a wonderful creamy texture and strong taste - a growing variety too. Ceri is a fifth generation cheesemaker and makes the cheese using the milk from her Dad's herd. Buy it when you see it!
