This place really is a cut above. If you are used to eating fish and chips from shops where the fish is frozen, not fresh, then you don't know what you are missing. Lou will often show you the cut before it cooks it, and the results are outstanding; fish that melts in the mouth. Excellent and friendly service, too.

Louis's enthusiasm in food is transferred to the best Fish & Chips in London. He not only remembers you when you visit his shop but recognises you out and about. Friday night's have never been so good!

I've lived near The Golden Anchor for just over 11 years, and have always loved the food and service that I recieve. Lou is the best neighbour you can have, and is well known in the area for his excellent service and politeness.

Lived in Mitcham for 15 years now. Top food, top staff and excellent value. Even my mate from the USA has eaten here!

I have been using the Golden Anchor for nearly 10 years now and I can sum up the customer service and food quality in a word, and that is "superlative".

Having eaten fish & chips over most of south London I can honestly say Golden Anchor has the best by far, I wouldn't go anywhere else. A very friendly atmosphere & quality service makes the place unbeatable.

My three year old says "these fish and chips are yummy" My children have starting eating fish since we found this wonderful fish and chips shop - one of South London's treasures. Lou & Elli are great and the atmosphere is very friendly

Lou and Elle have served me and my family for 8 years, and have watched my boy grow from a baby to 10 yrs of age and spoil him and us rotten. Fish, chips, burgers and food are always top quality and the friendly service is second to none. This is the best family run fish n chip shop in south London, if not the whole country. Keep up the ace work Lou. Cheers... Mick,Jen & Dean

Best Fish and Chip shop in South London without a doubt. Lou knows his customers and works hard to provide a service that benefits the whole community. The food is very good too.

The service is friendly, the fish and chips simply delicious. The fish is always fresh, the batter always perfectly crispy, the chips truly traditional. Unlike most chippie's you actually feel invigorated after finishing your meal!

This the best fish & chip shop in South London. The quality and freshness of the food is difficult to better. It is a traditional 'chippie' looking smelling and feeling just how it should and serving tasty fresh fish. And you can get mushy peas. The owner Lou and his family give great friendly service. You don't have to go in many times before Lou knows exactly what your order will be.
