Lots of good quality, value for money meat, that hasn't travelled miles. The meat tastes good because it's been fed on local fodder!
Great; a proper traditional butcher’s complete with carcasses hanging up in the shop. If the cut you want isn’t on display the staff are always happy to oblige with a bit of butchery and they can butterfly a leg of lamb in no time. Well it is a butchers I hear you say, but believe me I have been into butchers shops where all the meat is bought in already cut and ready prepared meat in various sauces makes up 80% of the display, without a decent piece of shin beef in sight! Brilliant old-fashioned service; customers are referred to as “Sir or “madam”. The pies and sausage rolls are particularly excellent. The sausages are well worth a try too, especially the spicy “Thumper” and herby “Wharfedale” varieties. We are lucky to have such a weath of local shops in Otley and it is a priviledge to shop there!
freindley staff who bend over backwards to help ,with knowlage of what they are selling you ,the pies and sausages are fantastic but do not take my word for it try them your self.
If it is meat or a meat product you require they have it, an Aladdin's cave of meat, winners of many national and international awards. A family firm of Butchers and Bakers now run by a fifth generation of Butchers and Farmers. Probably Otley's best kept secret, the shop is situated half way along a cobbled street at the bottom of the old cobbled Market Place. A wealth of meaty knowledge and friendly staff call and enjoy the experience.
