The staff are always friendly, the coffee (including soya) is always fresh and the homemade friands are to die for! Thanks Kath for an amazing sweet potato and asparagus quiche to celebrate my son's wedding! Geraldine Hull
Divine coffee, top notch service with a smile and reasonably good food too.
Picnic is a gem in the wonderful village of Killyleagh. The food is always freshly prepared, the menu is a fascinating fusion of local and aussie - reflecting the homelands of the owners, John and Kath! The service is second to none - well trained and happy staff. They're doing something right! They also stock a great range of local and Irish produce. If you are looking for a supper to take home or some fabulous cheese for a dinner party - go to Picnic!
I experienced my first visit to picnic on Sunday after a recommendation from a friend and now I see why she holds this little village deli in such high regard-The food was superb but I was even more impressed with the service-a vital part of any good restaurant/cafe. The waitress was gracious and obliging and promptly noticed I may require a high chair for the baby, was more than happy to spend time explaining menus and recommending dishes, ensuring my time at picnic was most agreeable and relaxing. Picnic is a very child friendly environment and the staff all made me very welcome from the moment they greeted us when we walked through the door. I am much looking forward to my next visit.
