Edible Ornamentals began by selling chilli pepper plants in 2001 and have since expanded to sell their own pickled chillies, fiery sauces and chilli strings. we have been buying their sauces and chutnies at Farmers markets around Hertfordshire for a number of years now and they are really special, then in the summer we found out from a friend that they are local to us as well, and have a 'pick your own' chilli farm. We couldn't have been made more welcome and they are so knowledgeable, so I took my brother back trhe next day and we pretty much bought the place out between us. Lovely people and properly passionate about Chillies, which is a subject close to my own heart....and their Scotch Bonnets make Breadsticks something else........

Jo must be one of the busiest people I know , but she always seems to have endless time for visitors to her nursery.(My grandchildren know lots about chillies now !) She is hugely enthusiatic , and make everybody who visits her want to rush off and use her many products. She grows amazing numbers of different chillies ( for sale both loose and as plants )and is very knowledgeable about ways to cook them. Her unusual recipes soon become family favourites. She also grows peppers , aubergines , tomatoes , basil and all sorts of other things. Her pickles and chutneys are amazing. Everybody loves them. I've given them to fellow campers all over Europe - always to huge appreciation. Her market stalls are great , too - always enticingly arranged , manned by cheerful and helpful people , and often with cookery demonstrations and recipe sheets. We are very lucky to have her here in Bedfordshire. She is worth a long journey for those not so lucky.

I was introduced to Edible Ornamentals Sweet Chilli Sauce and haven't looked back. I am very happy that I am able to buy quality chillies and chilli products on my doorstep at local farmer's markets. I know that Edible Ornamentals is passionate about giving the customer great tasting quality produce and good customer service. I recently heard Joanna Plumb on Three Counties Radio and she came across with such passion and enthusiasm that I will also be visiting the chilli farm in Chawston very soon to view over 40 varieties of Chillies that Joanna mentioned.

Joanna not only loves chillies, but is passionate about encouraging others to enjoy them. I keep seeing her at all the local country shows and farmer's markets, enthusing about the versatility of chillis and the other vegetables she grows. I have now introduced several of my friends to Edible Ornamentals and they are so full of praise for her, they are now regular visitors and have the same passion as Joanna. Her special chilli sauces and onion chutney are to die for! One friend who is a real chilli afficonado said the 'Inferno' is the best and hottest sauce she has ever come across (and that's praise indeed). How many other growers will take every customer on a personal guided tour, explaining all the different chillies, how to grow them and even advising the best way to prepare and cook them. You can't get better customer service than that.

We're lucky to have such an unusual and wonderfully passionate company here in Bedfordshire. Edible Ornamentals is dedicated to producing the very freshest chilli sauces imaginable - hand picked in the morning for cooking the same afternoon - and it certainly shows in all their products!

Jo is mad about Chilli's, she has put her heart and soul into Edible Ornamentals and It shows. Her sauces are well thought out and some pack a real punch!! Soon to be stocked in Waitrose! now that is something! I cant wait for Cherwood Nurseries to open it's doors fully. I have personally taken her sauces overseas and they love them.

This food grower and producer is passionate about quality, taste and customer service. If you want a gourmet chilli experience with the knowledge that you're dealing with the most passionate and perfectionist of growers then look no further! P.S. Try their famous Sweet Heat Habanero Chilli Bramley Apple Chutney...A chutney fit for the gods....WOW!

Edible Ornamentals provide a good range of chilli based products. Their service is excellent, with really friendly staff at their stalls. And their pickled chillis and sauces are addictive!

Edible Ornamentals grows and sells chilli plants and sauces. We only use our own freshly picked chillies in our recipes. We endeavour to pick the chillies on the morning that we are cooking with them. All our staff are trained in all aspects of the chilli business from looking after the plants, picking chillies, to cooking and to making craft items. At the farmers markets each member of staff will have been involved with the growing of the chillies, hence are very knowledgeable about the proudct. This ensures the customer has great, accurate and informative service!
