This very friendly family-run butchery is truly a local food hero specialising in local and free-range meat. There’s a lovely little deli in the shop too, selling local and speciality cheeses, hand-made quiches and pies, and more.

View all reviews (5)I started using Oakley Butchers in their previous location in Wimborne Square when I moved to the area 30 years ago. The quality and service are second to none and I wish their shop was 3 times larger so we could have 3 times the choice of excellent local produce.
this butchers works very hard to promote local produce, all meat is carefully sourced and served in ist class condition, They also have a great deli with home made pies cheeses fruit n veg. They produce wonderful bbq products all hand done.
Hi my name is Ian I own Oakley Butchers. Thank you for your very kind comments it is really nice to here that people like to come in to the shop as much as we like being here. I moved to Merley a year ago from the centre of Wimborne due to the overheads of being in the town centre, we have free-range Dorset lamb & pork locally reared beef (RUBY RED DEVON) as well as English & Scottish also free-range chicken. I think it I fantastic that people are asking about and taking an interest in the meat that they are eating and giving to their families. Again a big thank you to all of my customers and staff that make my days go well.
I've recently moved to the area and was looking for a butcher that could supply good meat that was well presented and tasty! The Oakley Butchers exceeded my wishes with a superb range of meats, veg, dairy produce and breads. Locally sourced foods that are well priced, the place is well kept and fun to shop in!!
This is my local BUTCHER who sells everything from local meat, eggs, fruit and vegetables, freshly baked local bread, deli produce made on-site, local biscuits, the best cream you will ever taste and cheese to die for. Not only are the products excellent but the service is fantastic too. I can ask any of the staff there anything about the products they sell, they know where it comes from, the best way to cook it and even give my children free samples of cheese when I take them in. I couldn't ask for more from them, other than they expand and offer more great produce!!
