Only when you have cooked and eaten 'proper' meat do you realise what rubbish and high levels of water is pumped into mass produced supermarket rubbish ! Fantastic quality and value WELL DONE GUYS keep up the good work. Even the kids notice the difference if we eat out ! A Hedges Farm sausage is no ordinary banger !!!
Hedges Farm and the Team that work there create a food oasis in St Albans. The team are friendly, enthusiastic and so know their stuff. Nothing is too much trouble. You can see where your food is coming from and the food miles are minimal.

The most superb home produced meat. Flavour and texture is unbeatable. Drew and the guys are great. Always cheerful polite and helpful and will offer any advice on cuts and cooking. The farm animal husbandry is superb with virtually organic cereals grown, some of the animals are rare breeds.A stunning example of British farming at its very best and we benefit with the quality end products.
The best meat I've ever bought and a great bunch of guys. I travel from East London to fill my freezer and won't buy meat anywhere else now. Fantastic.
Hedges is amazing! We will not go anywhere else for our meat. It's local, it's friendly, very fresh, traditional and they've always got what you want. Drew and his team are second to none at their job !!!! Can't rave about it enough
I always stock up my freezer from Hedges - the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you tell them what you want, how many you're cooking for, etc, they will immediately recommend something for you - and it's always been successful! I have friends from 20 miles away coming now - not exactly down the road for them, but they are happy to stock up from Hedges for the quality!
The best meat I've ever tasted! Even those with limited culinary skills would have difficulty preparing anything less than delicious with the quality of meat on sale here - succulent rib roasts, tender melt-in-the-mouth lamb, juicy steaks cut as thick as you wish and a huge variety of sausages so mouth-wateringly delicious that you'll never go anywhere else, are just a handful of what's on offer at Hedges Farm. The friendly and helpful staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble, treat all customers with the same courtesy and politeness, whether they're buying half a dozen burgers or enough meat to fill their freezer for a month. For those concerned with where their meat comes from, you only have to look around the fields of contented grazing sheep to know that these animals are treated humanely and with respect. The cattle and pigs are reared with the same concern for their well-being and it shows in the quality of the meat. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

We do not buy our meat anywhere else, superb service and quality. The sausages are succulent and the steaks juicy. Drew is a real star. Works extremely hard and always smiling, even around the christmas season when he is drowning in turkeys. A real hero. Long may he succeed, from the lady on the motorbike.

The quality and flavour of the meat is absolutely superb. Top of the range supermarket meat does not hold a torch to that supplied by Hedges. If you are in the area try Hedges and you'll never buy your meat anywhere else. Oh, and the staff are really lovely and helpful as well!
Home produced meat very fresh always well prepared, good value and served with a smile.
We only buy our meat from hedges farm now, we tried it once and we have never bought meat from any where else since. Also the animals all have a nice way of life and they are all very well looked after. Another thing is the staff are all so friendly and helpful.
The only truly locally and home produced meat supplier near St ALbans - all teh other buy in meat- you really know where this high quality meat comes from. I did a taste and price comparison with Sainsbury's Taste the Diffence Sirloin and not only was the taste incomparible, the Hedges meat was £6 per kilo cheaper! Children can see the newborn lambs and calves and learn about where their meat really comes from.
the quality of the meat is second to none, nothing is too much troble in the preparation of the meat for you. Its an enjoyable experience to visit the farm ... like shopping with friends!
You can see lambs and calfs that have just been born, the animals always look in good health and are well looked after. The quality of the produce is excellant. I have never tasted meat with such flavour before. Everyone that eats at my house comments on the flavour and quality of the meat that i have cook. I don't and won't buy my meat anywhere else. They will do what ever they can to help you (like ordering a turkey 3 days before christmas!!)Thanks guys It's a pleasure shopping there.
hedges farm sell home produced beef lamb and pork. they hang all the beef for 2 weeks before it is sold which adds extra flavour and tenderises it the beef is all aberdeen angus cross. all of their pork is rare breed which adds flaovour and means there is more crackling! they have over a thousand lambs born every year which can be seen in the sheds when they are small about a week old! this is before they go out to fields. drew the owner and his family work all year round on the farm even christmas day. they also sell turkeys at christmas which they rear on the farm from august. they use no additives or growth promoters so tou now what you are gettingand all the animals are well cared for. this family run shop deliver a great service with quality meat in a light and freindly atmosphere. I thik they are all GREAT!!
They staff are helpful and knowledgeable and the prices are similar to the supermarket. But that is not why I am voting for them, what makes the place special is the quality of the meat – sublime. Suggest you start with their 4 week aged rump streak and take it from there.

They sell home produced Lamb, Beef and Pork in the butchers shop at the farm. Drew who owns the Business works tirelessly to provide meat which is as close to organic as you can get, at a very reasonable price. He grows all his own cereals to feed the animals. His crops are grown wihout the aid of spraying. His animals are often rare breeds. The meat produced is delicious. His staff are fantastic and knoweldgeable- often providing wierd and wonderful old fashioned cuts of meat if required. At christmas they work night and day to supply turkeys for the christmas table which have been reared on the farm since August. Is it any wonder that customers come from as far away as Windsor and further!
No frills - just superb quality meat from farm to table.
