The food and service is amazing! Such a funky place to go, they should win as more people need to know about them as if you have never been to pour house you are totally missing out. The best place to eat.

Now in it's 4th year, often copied but still innovates with the combination of acolade worthy high quality local and organic food (a top Hotel Head Chef recently suggested 3 star quality here without the fuss!)combined with top London bar worthy cocktails, see their Mix Bar operation in Winchester (now open) and Reading (later in 2006)and Fluid Bar Consultancy business at some of this Summer's top festivals and events. All in an easy going environment, accesible exclusivity - Funky food, funky bar - "city style in the country".

These guys in my opinion started the new wave of trendy accolade worthy food combined with equally imoressive city style cocktail bar offering, they have been around 4 years now doing this better and better each year, all very cool yet accesible and you never feel uncomfortable, in fact feel quite at home, whateve you wear, whatever the time of day, whatever the occasion.

A bistro cocktail bar in the middle of rural Hampshire! Brilliant. Excellent food, a huge cocktail list and a really relaxed, classy atmosphere. The interior is designed really well, and I love all the lights strung up. Sitting outside on the terrace in the Summer or winter is great for people watching.

claire 26 claire 26 Posted 26 Jul 2006 12:15 PM

Lovely staff. Good value for money. Great atmosphere. Fantastic food! They change the menu regularly. They manage to create a contemporary and cosmapolitan space in a small village that is full of dreary pubs and restaurants. They have an excellent reputation in the village and for good reason.

For a sleepy villiage like Hartney Whitney this offers good quality food and an air of sophistication over the normal pup grub or local resturant. There is a feel of being in another place. Menu always has interesting choices that are well cooked. Also the well trained cocktail staff can definatly let you forget where you are.
