Like most people who have been brought up in England. Eating boiled and bland food is the "norm" until a friend introduced me to Al:Amin. Over a period of time I have discovered FOOD and thats real food. The variety from all over the world coupled with a great deli makes al-amin a unique experience in it self. As advertised on the LCD screens in the shop with the slogan that says their shop is our shop could not be more true. Thank you al-amin and thank you to the crazy bunch of guys who work there. They make you smile all the way back home! Can I get a job there plaese?
There are many shops but there is and can be only one shop like this one that has everything one can needs complimented by a happy, caring and helpful sataff
I live in London and from time to time visit my son in Cambridge for periods of time. There are many halal shops but there is only one Al:Amin. As the name suggests "the fair ones" could not be further from the truth. The variety of products, the friendliness and happiness that radiates from the staff and the ethos the shop is run on is testimony of this fact. Over and beyond that, the shops involvement (albeit unsung) in Cambridge's community affairs regardless of the fact, they are for Muslims or not and their stance on the environment all add up to make this shop absolutely unique. Words are hard find to describe it. Keep up the great work
Amazing range of spices, rices and breads. A positive and active presence in the community. Great takeaway curries.
When I moved back to Cambridge from London I was worried about being able to find the ingredients for the Iranian and Indian dishes I love cooking... Then I discovered Al-Amin!! This shop has everything you could possibly need, and some more! No need to make a special trip to London to get 'hard-to-find' ingredients. They also do all the basics, so no need to go to the supermarket. I should also mention the very reasonably priced and extremely tasty curries they do, which you can easily heat up at home - better than a ready meal any day!!
Al-Amin is a most excellent grocery store, as it provides the best, as well a variety of different cultual foods. everything is ordered in a unique way which makes it very easy to find whatever we are looking for, if for some reason we are not able to find a certain item the staff at this store are kind enough to help and provide us with what we are looking for. The owner of Al-Amin is an extremly polite and charming gentleman, someone who always has a smile on his face.
Hardworking staff, pleasant and friendly environment, with an amazing variety of products
Great Place: I can't believe the range and variety of your produce?? How do you do it? And at the same time: always friendly, very well organised: just fantastic and heaven for anyone who loves to cook! Thank You!
Al-Amin is a unique shop in terms of its product’s quality. It has a wide range of product that not easy to find in other shops in Cambridge. Al-Amin is one of the few shops in Cambridge that cares about the environment. It has invested heavily in its bio-degradable plastic carrier bags, which makes this shop green and environmentally friendly. It has a very high business ethics, which makes this place special.
Al-Amin is a prestigeous pure Halal neat & tidy shop in Cambridge. Saff is brotherly & caring. you feel good to shop around.
The staff of this amazing store do everything they can to stock whatever its varied clientele will require. People come from all over the world to live in Cambridge and Al-Amin greet every single person with the greatest courtesy, however busy they may be. The stock is colossal and varied and, at the same time, they address green issues in many ways, always discussing with their customers ways of improving what they do. This a neighbourhood store of absolutely the best kind, working in a varied neighbourhood to show that all people must be treated with respect, and serving the community in many more ways than just being a shop. Ask anyone in the Mill Road area, most people in Cambridge, and they will all know Al-Amin, and their response will invariably be “Oh, that amazing shop near the bridge. They are wonderful people in there.” I hope they win as their efforts on many levels here are exemplary.
This place is a blessed blend of quality and service, offering great food and special ingredients and brings lots of culture from around the world.
Its the best place in town, always have what I want and more at great prices and even bigger smiles. Makes shopping a pleasure.
Can't get better, offers everything and more...with a smile
This shop always goes the extra mile with product ranges and customer service. Nothing is too much trouble and the family who own this store are just a complete joy to deal with. Teresa Grant.
Top shop. Whatever you're looking for they usually have it. Also very good and great value home-made curries, fresh and frozen to take away.
Exceptionally friendly shop with a great range of food from all over the world, including fabulous homemade curries. The shop has an ethical Mission Statement and aims to stock ethical, fair trade and organic food as well as not selling 'harmful' products such as alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets.
This store sells everything you could ever need including lots of vegan and vegetarian specialities. They perform a great service to the community by having a Post Office in store (very rare these days) and are without exception pleasant and helpful wihtout being intrusive. Although the products are not neccesarily local, their inclusivity is and I think they deserve more recognition for this.
