Selling: Cheese / Dairy

Daisy's Farm Fresh Milk is a small family-run farm with around 80 cows. The family have four small children and are working hard to make a future in dairy farming. Due to poor milk prices, they have diversified into processing and bottling milk and established a traditional doorstep delivery service. To pay back their customers' support they offer free education trips for schools and open the farm up to visitors.

We recently moved to the UK from the USA and have been buying milk from the local store. Yesterday I stopped at a farm store and purchased the milk from Daisy farm. I cannot find enough words to express how fantastically good it tastes. I can only say that last night I have put in a regular order for milk and eggs. I consider that I am so lucky to have such a wonderful farm near us and I cannot thank them enough for what they produce. Having been to the web site I will also look forward to reading the articles about Daisy and her friends and will indeed arrange to take my grandchildren there at the first opportunity.

Milk is fantastic! - a certain nostalgia and current environmental glow is brought on by the receipt of foil capped bottles!! Local company who also try to involve their community. Did you know they also collect the plastic milk bottle caps for charity?!! Easy to contact and approachable team on the farm who would well deserve to win given the hard work they have and still are putting in.

A real contributor to the community, in many ways. Fresh milk is delicious, my children will not drink any other milk! Farm open days to introduce the local community to the farm and the workings within it.

Friendly and personal service, local to where we live. They deliver on time every time. My milk bill is probably the only bill I enjoy receiving. Always got an interesting read about what going on down on the farm etc, bit of farming news ad sort any issues immediately. Spoil yourself to a good old glass pint of full fat milk for bedtime once a week..... yum.

dsainsbury dsainsbury Posted 13 Jul 2007 8:29 PM

this producer has much better standards than any other producer for instance daisy's milk is only a day old so it is fresh!

I thought all milk just tasted the same until we started having our milk from Lyde Green Farm. It just tastes fantastic, is delivered early, and is ice cold. And its also in reusable glass bottles, so great for the environment aswell. Well done Daisy!!

Milk is FRESH, not a week old. The taste is just as I remember it, as a child, and I was brought up on a farm. Great work Team Lyde. Tony1394

Wonderfully fresh and delicious milk! We never want to buy supermarket milk again! A really inspiring, hard-working family business that deserves every success!!

I have been receiving Daisy's milk for a few months now and have been really impressed with the taste of the milk and the doorstep delivery service. I also took a group of Beaver Scouts to visit the farm and we had a great time - especially when James was explaining all about cow poo! We visited the farm on the recent open day and the whole family got to meet daisy and learn about her life - check out the farm website and see Daisy's diary - it's fab.

t55 t55 Posted 27 Jun 2007 7:22 PM

As soon as my children had their first taste they knew this milk was special and rush to get the cream off the top first - something you don't get with shop bought milk! A wonderful delivery service and always on the doorstep before 7:30am in all weathers - well done.

sue79 sue79 Posted 27 Jun 2007 3:38 PM

Farm Fresh products delivered to our doorstep Friendly crew. On-line acount settling. But the best bit is that we look forward to getting the Bill. The back of which includes a short report on farm progress and a few ditties.

wonderful fresh creamy milk delivered before breakfast and the best eggs I've ever tasted! Fantastic service and I love the newsletter! Very intelligent and happy cows at Lyde Green

Tucker2 Tucker2 Posted 26 Jun 2007 10:52 PM

Daisy and friends literally look over our garden hedge, and the very next morning we receive their milk, in bottles, on our doorstep. What could be better than that! James has made made the farm truly accessible to everyone and has really brought local farming back into the village. We should all support that.

anniebb anniebb Posted 26 Jun 2007 9:44 PM

Milk and Eggs taste the way they did when I was a child. Delivered to my doorstep at 7am three times a week. I feel very lucky to be less than three miles from where they originate. Thank you James, Helen and Daisy for all your hard work.

Grannydoreen Grannydoreen Posted 26 Jun 2007 7:52 PM

James & Helen Hague keep fit and clean freisians, with modern efficient farm buildings and excellent grazing. The result of the above is an excellent range of dairy products produced at a reasonable price within this much troubled industry They are stars!

Jaws2 Jaws2 Posted 26 Jun 2007 5:21 PM

In the absence of a Local Shop/Post Office I'm happy that James Hague, his family and their farm are fast becoming the centre of the community in Rotherwick and the surrounding villages.

Sheppyshepshep Sheppyshepshep Posted 26 Jun 2007 2:26 PM

Diccon1 Diccon1 Posted 26 Jun 2007 2:05 PM

A friendly, efficient, reliable, sensibly-priced service. The freshest, tastiest milk we've ever had delivered. We're proud to support this hard-working farmer and his products.

Karen24 Karen24 Posted 26 Jun 2007 11:59 AM

Service is excellent, communication is friendly and all you wish from a local Farmer. Best of all prices are competitive and the milk is 100% fresher and tastier than any supermarket brand. Everyone should support their local farms!!

Reidy17 Reidy17 Posted 26 Jun 2007 11:56 AM

Wonderful great tasting milk and eggs. The farm is very accommodating and patient fitting deliveries in with our erratic working lifestyle as we are away so much. Great doorstep delivery service!

PatST PatST Posted 26 Jun 2007 11:04 AM

Lovely cows, especially Daisy, giving delicious milk and free range hens producing the best eggs ever, all delivered to my house before 6am! Well done Daisy and her friends.

Lizzie41 Lizzie41 Posted 26 Jun 2007 10:06 AM

Delicious milk. Fantastic service. You even get to visit the farm and what's more, get a chance to name the new calfs. Every month the backside of the bill has a fun newsletter relating life down on the farm. Brilliant!

keefyoung keefyoung Posted 26 Jun 2007 7:51 AM

I'm old enough to remember real milk in proper bottles which had that luscious thickened near-cream at the top - and I thought I would never see or taste it again. I was wrong; these guys bring it to me (at 5.30 a.m.) regular as clockwork - and it is real and it hasn't been "homogenised" or wrecked in any of the other ways the major companies have thought up. Brilliant - definitely heroic - and just up the road if you want to talk to them. (And we get a news-sheet which is witty and informative). Can't do better than that.

Johnbat Johnbat Posted 25 Jun 2007 10:24 PM

I have been taking milk from Daisy's farm from the begining. Always on the doorstep really early, come rain or shine! A very go-ahead family business. May they go from strength to strength. Dave77

Better quality milk moustache from Daisy.

KieronJS KieronJS Posted 25 Jun 2007 7:27 PM

Lovely fresh milk and eggs - always delivered before we leave for the school run at 8am. You can really taste the difference between their products and those you can buy in the supermarket. I wouldnt buy milk/eggs from a supermarket now as they taste inferior. Lovely service too, always quick to reply to emails. And a fantastic monthly newsletter on the back of the invoice (makes the invoice something to look forward to!)

sharonkitten sharonkitten Posted 25 Jun 2007 7:16 PM

with so many dairy farmers deciding to sell up itis to be applauded that the Hagues have built up their business in the heart of the community; the supermarkets just cannot hope to compete with the quality of of the goods supplied by the farm. through the newsletter and events we feel we are part of the business. good luck

roehre roehre Posted 25 Jun 2007 5:49 PM

Well-run rural business using the best of new technology combined with old-fashioned common sense. Excellent communications about first class produce. Hampshire could benefit from more business like Daisy's so must continue to support all such efforts to revitialise the countryside industries. Well done.

The wonderful taste of the milk and eggs compared to supermarket supplies. Nothing is to much trouble for James.

PRichard1 PRichard1 Posted 25 Jun 2007 11:10 AM

When we first started having milk delivered from Lyde Green Farm, we had never tasted fresher, better milk, it was wonderful! More than two years on we still appreciate the milk we receive delivered to our door, promptly and reliably. James & Helen (owners) have worked and continue to work tirelessly to bring the best of farm produce to the local community. They have made their farm part of the local community in a way that farms used to be and it is a tremendous asset to the area. They farm in a way sympathetic to the environment, encouraging wildlife and always looking for ways to improve the way they farm and reducing their impact on the environment.

andy18 andy18 Posted 25 Jun 2007 10:41 AM

Wonderful family-run business providing fresh milk products (the cream is to die for!) and locally produced eggs, plus now newly baked bread to order! Great example of farming in the community complete with educational farm days so you can see how they do it! You'll never buy supermarket milk again--trust me! Keep it up!

Milk is fresh, delivered to my door before 8am and is even left in a shaded place instead of the sunshine. How thoughtful...The milk has to be tasted to appreciate just how different it is from supermarket milk. Happy Cows, Happy Customers what more could you ask for.

furrycha furrycha Posted 04 Jun 2007 8:26 PM

Cows reared, milked, bottled and delivered locally from the farm to my school where I feed 275 kids every day - 24hour service often delivered by James (owner) himself - nothing is too much trouble. Check out their education centre.

When we first tried Daisy's milk and eggs we were genuinely amazed at how tasty they are compared with supermarket produce - our grandchildren love the milk and can't get enough of it - and we wouldn't buy our milk or eggs anywhere else now. As a bonus, the newsletters are really interesting too.

Sue Yearsley Sue Yearsley Posted 03 Jun 2007 9:58 AM

Our 3 children love Daisy's milk and eggs and we all enjoy reading the monthly newsletter. Excellent service, excellent local produce at a good price. Keep it up!

AliB123 AliB123 Posted 02 Jun 2007 6:02 PM

I am a new convert to Daisy's. Not only is the service excellent and efficient, but the produce is excellent. I love that I get updates about the cows and the farm in general along with my bill. This farm has got it about as right as possible in my opinion and if I can support them by ordering all my fresh milk from Daisy's, then that's what I'm going to do. A satisfied customer in Sherfield-on-Loddon
