Real food with a natural taste you should head here at full pace. The owner sources his products from the actual manufacturers, he always has good advice on all of his products and lets you try them out. Forget the bland mass production from the supermarkets and reawaken your tastebuds. Guarantee no one will regret visiting this shop, as others reviewers have said it is a little treasure chest. Highly recommend his chilli ice cream.

Nothing i can say really does this shop justice, im a trainee chef at the local college and the ammount of enjoyment ive had just from visiting his shop every time i can is enough in itself but then the range of ingredients he sells far surpasses anything i could hope to find, especially in blackburn. ive had so much fun creating new things and experimenting from what he sells. if you are anywhere near here i highly reccomend visiting this shop.

The photo doesn't do Chilli Lime Deli justice! This is a real 'Hidden gem'! But once you have popped in and heard the friendly greeting, smelt, and sampled the wide array of delicious and unusual foodie things...you'll be back, as I have! It is a pleasure to meet someone who cares so passionately about his craft, stocking world-wide lines, as well as supporting local producers; John is an authority on all things salami, believe me! And cheese, and olives, and, oh...did I mention his 2nd Chilli Cook Off, for charity June/July...people of the north west, prepare for some jaw-dropping dishes, whipped up outside the shop! I had a lovely sojourn at CLD this week, chatting to like-minded customers, nibbling samples of cheese, and salami, and being thoroughly entertained about the provenance of the produce by John, himself! Very best wishes for continued success.

i was once walking to my bus stop on the way home and passed the deli. As I like cooking and experimenting with different products i decided to take a look inside. It is like walking into a treasure chest. John the owner stocks a wide range of continental products from all over the world. John also educates you about all the cheeses and meats and also lets you try before you buy. He also sells a wide range of freshly made sandwiches and soups at good prices. once discoverd never forgotten! luke pilkington age 15

I am so glad that John took on this project. The products he has are frequently talked about in VERY trendy magazines and it is nice to be able to get your hands on them! Also, John is willing to listen to your ideas and suggestions. Keep up the good work.

I have only recently found this goldmine of a deli and the quality of the produce and specialist ingredients is exceptional-he even has biltong. You simply must pay a visit if only for the freshly heated paninis with fillings of your choice.

When walking into the shop, a juxtapose with old fashion values and modern ideas really hits you. John (the owner) Is a friendly and helpful character. One thing is apparent; that he really enjoys and takes pride in his work and has a real passion for all things edible. I think he should win as it is a reminder that the independent shop has not yet been nudged out by the supermarket just yet, and I for one am glad of that.

I love this place. You get a real sense of commitment and love for food, by john and the top quality of food he supplies. Or if you just want to go in for a friendly chat, you can do that also. Although the food is very addictive :)

What a shop! He knows his food and is passionate about it. Has lots of ideas on how to use the quality ingredients that he sells. The ChilliLimeDeli is a breathe of fresh air for Blackburn, one that has been overdue for way too long.

Always happy to spend time explaining the different products. The Chilli Lime Deli has brought long needed, good quality, reasonably priced food adventures to Blackburn. We have been to a lot of very good delies, but have never come across such enthusiasm for good food.

John's genuine enthusiam for food is brilliant and nevers fails to rub off on you. There is an ever increasing variety of world and local food to choose from and taste. It's a relaxed and fun shopping adventure and the complete opposite from the usual impersonal, marketing frenzy, food shopping experience (i.e. Tesco)! Hurray for Chilli Lime!!!

The knowledge, pride and interest in what he does make this guy one of the elite. It is rare today to leave a store knowing so much about what your about to eat, it makes for a great experience everytime.

John Caffrey, the owner, sources speciality foods from all around the globe as well as supporting local food producers. He is very obviously passionate about food and is always more than willing to provide advice and information about any of the produce in the store, or recipe ideas. The deli has a website also: http://www.chillilimedeli.co.uk/?movieShown=yes
