Nestling in a busy enclave Shear Bridge is Prashad, vegetarian chaat house. Prashad in Gujrati is a word used to describe blessed food and chaat is a popular street side food found in India. Although it has been around since 1986, it only started serving sit down meals in 2004, opening evenings and weekends. It is managed by father and son team but the kitchen is the domain of Mrs Patel, who learnt her skills from her grandmother in Gujarat.

Amazing food. Mother in-law is a pure vegeterian and is spoilt by the choice she as in London. However, this place beats them all. Onto a winner....Good luck with the future....

Subtle flavours, fabulous contrasts and a fantastic family all make Prashad the premier vegetarian spot in Bradford, chaat and bhel supreme are our summer staples and we come back to Prashad year on year from its small one shop beginnings many years ago. Prashad is unique. Each dish is unlike any curry i have ever tasted. Beautiful and unusual tastes and wonderful combinations. You just have to work through the menu and then return occasionally to old favourites. I fully recommend Prashad they certainly have my vote
I have never eaten such fabulously tasty food in Bradford. So flavoursome! friendly service. I wish i had a bigger stomach. Would definately return again to sample the rest of the menu. Thanks for a lovely meal

Having been to this restaurant several times over a period of time. I have found the food excellent and always of a high standard. Also the staff are always friendly, helpful and courteous. Whenever we call in we are treated as friends

Have known the Prashad for several years. It's excellent and it's great they now have a restaurant to complement their wonderful bakery. I haven't eaten a fresher tastier curry anywhere. The people who run the place are very friendly. Please open a branch in Ilkley!

Prashad is the most wonderful restaurant i have ever been to. I love it bcause it is all vegetarian and there are lots of vegan options. So no cruelty is involved , the people here are really warm and friendly and make you feel really welcome. The food is totally and utterly delicious. The only problem is that there is too much choice and i wish Prashads were in Leeds. The restaurants lovely arrange glow and silver tables, beautiful elephants dancing and music provide a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy delicious and colourful food that melts in the mouth. Prashad definately deserve to win the local hero of 2006 and have my vote for sure!!!

Kaushey Paatel is the current South Asian Chef of the Year and runs a truly authentic north Indian vegetarian restaurant in Bradford. Despite Bradford having plenty of curry houses, hers is unique in the products served.
