Delicious fresh fruit and vegetables delivered to my kitchen, always with a smile by the local rep! Once tasted, you will never want to buy supermarket produce - even if it does say "organic" on the label - ever again! Its so good knowing your food is grown mostly by local farmers, who are taking proper care of the land and wildlife. Crops are not forced to grow faster than they would naturally - as a result they are more wholesome and satisfying to eat. River Nene veggies and fruit make up most of my diet, and i need only a little meat and fish. I love eating the great variety of seasonal veg which you just don't find in the supermarket - its exciting trying new ones. Through the news from the farm, I'm learning lots about my food - varieties, historys, how it's grown, where its grown, how to cook and recipes galore. It's really interesting! I feel really involved and included in how my food is produced - its like being part of a very special family!

This box scheme makes it so easy and enjoyable to bypass the supermarkets with no effort at all! The boxes change with the season and encourage you to try new fruit and veg and generally enjoy food that is fresh and locally produced. The distributors and delivery teams offer a really personal and friendly service with the whole things easy to manage online, they will happily tuck boxes away in a safe place if you are out when the delivery comes. My weekly box delivery has really encouraged me to cook and eat more healthily.

The River Nene veg box scheme has given us access to locally produced high quality and a great variety of fresh produce which we would just not be able to replicate if we shopped at the supermarket. It feels good to be supporing a scheme that operates on all the right principles and we get great food in return.

The veg/fruit boxes are fun to receive and it feels good to be supporting local produce. The service is terrific - very easy to use on-line web ordering facilities and friendly, easily-contactable delivery service. The weekly flier is interesting, useful and has some often unusual recipe ideas and tips for the use of veg/fruit that might be unfamiliar. All in all - Loverly Jubberley!!

Before using this scheme, I would buy the same old veg from the supermarket week in, week out - now my family and I try all different types of veg and lots of new recipes. Even my 7 year old little boy is helping me to make vegetable soups that I had never made before and they have been lovely. The ordering is easy and our local distributor even sends us a reminder. The delivery is always on time and the products are lovely and my little boy is very taken with organic products so much so that when we are in the supermarket, he looks our for them.

I have been looking for a scheme such as this for a long while. The organic vegetables are superb, come in their 'just harvested' state, i.e. not sanitised such as those found in supermarkets. Variety is always ensured; it is always fascinating, each Friday, to see what is in the box when it comes; several vegetables I have never tried before have now become favourites. The scheme is also very flexible in that additional vegetables/produce can be added to the basic box - an aspect not found in all box schemes. Additionally a chatty newsletter accompanies the vegetables, which makes good reading with the late morning cup of tea. The vegetables are delivered by a very pleasant lady, usually within the same timeframe each week. Overall a superb organisation.

Simply said, River Nene revolutionised our approach to food. We used a competitor of theirs first, but were quickly sold to their excellent quality & outstanding friendliness. We now build our menus around the box which not only is probably better for the environment (local, seasonal food), but also for our health - we munch through a whole box and fruit box every week (family of four). Less meat, more veggies altogether. And the cherry on top of the cake ? It tastes far better than anything I have ever tried, is price-effective, if not cheaper, it gets delivered to your door by a friendly driver and you get a newsletter every week. Fan-tas-tic. I would never go back to source my vegetables and fruits from a supermarket.

I have received this box scheme for some time now and its like Christmas every week looking to see whats inside the box of organic fruit and veg. The taste and freshness is vastly superior to shop bought items. Stephen who delivers the box scheme is always friendly and smiling even in the worst of weathers and he always has time for you to ask how you are. I cannot recommend them highly enough

I have received River Nene boxes for nearly a year now and didn't believe how wonderful it would be in terms of taste and variety. I also think it is good value for money - for the unusual varieties you would pay over the odds in the supermarkets. The quality of the food is very good, well packaged (and recyclable/returnable). Occasionally food needs importing to fill the boxes but this is done as eco-friendly as possible (Europe, not air) which is a benefit. The fruit in particular tastes much better than markets and supermarkets. Staff and delivery staff always friendly and full of advice.

They deliver, with a smile and friendly chat, fantastic veggies. It's great to have in season and local produce, organically grown. Email queries are always answered promptly and usefully. We always look forward to the newsletter that comes with the box and have tried lots of their recipes. We love their 'open' and friendly approach. Well done guys!

River nean organic boxes are great I have one delivered every 2 weeks and there is always a good selection of veg plus a recipe that I always make,many of the veggies I would pass by in the supermarket but with it being in the box we try them and enjoy,carry on the good work.

They sell organically grown vegetables and fruits and deliver to your door each week. They decide what goes in the boxes, depending on what is in season, this also keeps the cost down. They are courteous and very friendly on the phone, and after receipt of my first order, rang me to see if it was all OK and if I had enjoyed it. They have a web site on which you can see recipes using all their produce. Deliveries are prompt and reliable.

River Nene offers great organic veg at reasonable prices and great customer service. We get different veg + fruit each week and eat far more fruit + veg than we did before they delivered to us. The quality + value for money can't be beat!

It's a really great scheme which has a superb variety of boxes plus a long range of organic food which you can have delivered. The prices are competitive so that we now have much of our shopping from them. A receipe leaflet and newsletter with each box keeps you posted as to what to expect in the near future and how to use the contents. this week there's an excellent childrens newletter.

River Nene has changed the way we buy, cook and eat - we wait for the box to arrive on a Wednesday and plan the rest of the weeks shopping around that. We love it.

We've been inspired to try so many new recipes as a result of getting our veg box delivered. With new vegetables introduced to us, we are developing new tastes all the time. The veg is always fresh, lasts well and tastes fantastic.

My delivery man, Jeremy, is lovely and kind and really looks after his customers. he is full of useful receipes when you are not sure what to do with a certain veg. He makes sure if you are not in the fruit & veg are put somewhere out of the wet (or even hot!!!) weather. All in all ...a real gent.

I have been getting a veg box for about two years now, my current favourite is the summer box - a weekly box of sunshine delivered to my door! This scheme is fantastic value, and I love the range of delicious veg, and being able to order extras when you need them. This has definitely helped to increase the amount and range of veg we eat each week. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic veg and great recipes. I look forward with excitement for my delivery every Saturday it feels like Christmas unpacking the box to see what yummy things I have ordered. The delivery staff are also really friendly and its lovely to have a little chat each week when our veg is delivered. Some of my favourite veg that I never cooked before are beetroot, squash, purple sprouting broccoli & Koln Rabi.

These guys are great... the veg is tasty and it lasts well. The boxes are well priced. The service is superb. I've introduced 4 friends to the wonders of River Nene. If they send you a veggie you're not sure about, just look it up on the website!

I made a pact with my family to try this organic veg service and with each week we tried new veg. The first time we tried fennel it was a real surprise. Their website gives you ideas on how to cook the new veg. The staff are great and it is good to support traditional and organic farming practices. Good luck

I have tried box schemes before but none have lasted more than two weeks. River Nene is a completly different matter. Peter, my delivery driver here in our bit of Essex, is helpful and friendly. My daughter loves finding out what is in the boxes. River Nene have many advantages over the other schemes I have tried. It is great value, the fruit and veg is delicious, it is always fresh and lasts well and it is flexible.

I have nothing but praise for the River Nene Box Scheme, not only for the superb quality of the produce they supply, but also for their obvious sensitivity to ecological issues and determination to be a working model of excellence in this regard. When I have friends over for a meal, they invariably comment on the taste of the vegetables - fresh and nutrititious. (Interestingly, even the simplest dishes are reported as very filling, which is the true testament to quality really, as the body knows when it is being nourished and when it is not. ) I enjoy the user-friendly website, and I always read the news from the farm which is included with my order. I feel really part of the project, and their news makes one feel so. This kind of positive energy is very precious in these times we are living through. River Nene is showing the way forward, not only in terms of their superb produce, but their whole ethos. Whether they win or not, they are definitely my own personal 'Local Heroes.' !! I always look forward to returning home from work on the day of my delivery, and set about creating familiar dishes and new recipes. I also enjoy the recipe collection on their website, and it is lovely that customers can participate there too. I personally don't believe that a scheme like this could be any better, and to repeat myself, I have only the highest praise for all concerned.

I have tried several box scheme companies, but River Nene exceeds them all, by far. The fruit and veg arrive in spotless condition, and are so tasty that you feel like everything you've eaten before was just plastic! Also their cream and yogurt are fantastic and remind me of what my nan used to make. In conclusion, real tasty food, straight from Mother Nature. Fantastic, thank you!

Superb! Superb! Superb! The produce is out of this world, even my children (aged 18 mths and 2 1/2) can't get enough of it!! They make each meal even more enjoyable. I can't reccommend them enough, you have to try them! Go on, you'll be pleased you did!

I have used this company for the last couple of years - they are excellent. I have always been able to call or email any changes to my order & they are more than happy to amend. Not once have they failed to do what I requested, & at times when there have been any grumbles or gripes they have always responded to my comments. Best of all their produce is just out of this world. Once you have had their Strawberries you can never go back to regular ones! They have something for anyone & you don't even have to order once a week, you can just ask for whatever you want & it is done. I can't recommend them highly enough.

We can eat full tasting, fresh, nothing added- nothing taken away produce. Like many others I no longer make visits to the local supermarket more than neccessary. Because the items are delivered to our home it means that I am making regular savings on my shopping bills-I am not seeing "must have" items so often! Service from all the staff at River Nene has always been friendly. They listen to comments and replace items that have not been completely satisfactory. They are also informative supplying information about the source of their products and how they are reviewing them for improved quality and taste. Plenty to choose from and delicious to eat!

Bob, my friendly local delivery man, brings me a box of fresh seasonal organic veg every other week and he's always happy to deliver where or when I need him to, add in extras, like eggs and yoghurt, even wine! He continued to deliver to me evene after I moved to the next town and was technically out of his area. I've recomended him to all my friends and family and now three others get veg boxes too. I also love that you never know what you are going to get and it makes you be imaginative when cooking. My children now love Chard, Kohl rabi and jerusalem artichokes because of Bob and River Nene. I love getting vegetables that I don't recognise - and the recipes on the site are really helpful. If the produce is ever not up to their usual high standards, then they will offer an apology vegetable in the next box, no questions asked. We love this scheme.

A bag of organic juicing carrots for £2.70. The size? 7.5kg! Shows that organic need not be out of the price range of many people. I love the veg box with its mysterious veggies I have never known or tried. They supply really helpful lists of what is in the box, as well as recipe ideas and news from the farm (every week) - and it is always online the preceding week so that you can change or even cancel your order up to a certain point. The only trouble is when I get two unusual veggies in the same box and have to identify which is which. Delivery is always courteous, informative and non-pushy. Vegetable quality is fab and they have gotten me eating more of them and experimenting. I've been with them now for 9 months - the longest I have ever been with such a scheme. I buy organic dairy and eggs from them too and sometimes sundry bits. They are the best!

The big supermarkets are now trying to compete but they will never match the essence of a good veg box scheme. The general public want fantastic produce at fair prices to help their local communities and to recognise traditional UK seasons forgotton by supermarkets. Taste will always rule as will River Nene!

We've been using River Nene for a year now and would not go back to supermarket organic fruit and veg as it's all standardised in shape and flavour. We prefer quirkiness over aesthetic quality. What's a bit of dirt, what's a bit of greenfly - it shows the produce is fresh, tasty and organic... and it's part of the fun. My 4 year old loves seeing what's in the box each week, so we get educational value as well as being actively encouraged to "think outside the box" with cooking. Russell and Vanessa deliver excellent service, always friendly and giving updates from the farm. We're looking forward to our farm visit on 25 August. Fruit and veg boxes are the way forward for people that care about the environment and about what they are eating.

Fabulous fresh veggies with real dirt and mud on them! My 3 year old loves Fridays and tries to guess what's in the box before it arrives. We then go through the box together, looking, smelling and tasting the various fruit/veg. First class for health, first class for education and first class for taste - just what food should be about!

The committment and passion of River Nene, so well communicated in Rob's weekly newsletter, combined with excellent service from Russell and Vanessa in Milton Keynes, and the interest and quality of the vegetables, fruit and other products, have given me such pleasure over the year and a half that I have received a weekly box. Fresh veg delivered to your door each week. We get excited each week to see what we have got, and it all tastes so much better than the rubbish you get in the supermarket. Even the website is great. Straight forward and it is easy to change your order or add to it whenever you want to.

Have been receiving the box for almost a year now. The fruit and veg taste wonderful. It's so fresh, doesn't go off in a few days like supermarket produce does. I've become almost a vegetarian and the website is full of wonderful recipes to try out. Takes me back to my childhood just after the war when we used to eat home grown veg on the same day it was picked. Lovely!!

Having made the move from a large town,we decided to change our eating habits in a slightly more rural environment - River Nene provides an excellent selection of produce and I look forward to trying out new vegetables that you know are of great quality and have not flown around the world in a semi-frozen state! My distributor is great and the service we receive is second to none! I work for the uk's largest supermarket but would not buy my fruit and vegetables there now!!

It's a nice surprise when the box arrives seeing what we have that week. I like the fact I am eating seasonal food and it forces me to eat more varied foods and recipes than I ordinarily would. FAB the box is brill we get home on a wednesday excited to see what has been delivered and spend a couple of days a week on the website trying out all of the recipes. we definatley eat a lot healthier and our food has a lot more taste without lots more chemicals

River Nene is absolutely fab. The vegetables sparkle with their freshness, their is an excellent variety of produce. I often find vegetables in my box that I only remember from watching my grandfather grow in his garden some thirty years ago. And the taste,, well, they taste like my childhood, proper veg. Its just like christmas once a week, unpacking your box to find its wonderful delights. My delivery driver is a lovely girl where nothing is too much trouble, the one week I forgot to order she managed to get me a box for the weekend. She came out of her way by several miles, just to make sure we were happy. Most definately above the call of duty. It was at that point I realised how dependant our family had become on our box scheme so put in a regular order. They have a wide variety of boxes to suit single people to large families. I can't fault the value for money. Lovely veg with free delivery what more could you want. Just try it, you won't look back.

River Nene's fruit and veg takes me back 35 years. This is how food used to taste before supermarkets spoit it all in there relentlees pursuit of blandness. More power to River Nene's elbow.

The media often repeats unsubstantiated claims that organic food is more expensive than no-organic. This is not true! River Nene provide excelleny quality, deliverd to my door at reasonable prices. Supermarket organic food is expensive, but much supermarket fruit and veg offers poor value for money in my view. They are expensive, tasteless, dont last very long in the fridge, have been airfreighted from abroad and the suppiers are likely to have been treated badly too (read 'Shopped' by Joanna Blythman for an eyeopener about supermarket practices!). A smiling face; quality tasty food; reasonable prices; no delivery charge; an excellent service ethic; supporting UK growers and organic ethics in the UK countryside v's a weekly trolley shuffle - no contest!

We have been overjoyed with our experience of Organic veg selection. We can't wait to find out what we will receive each week and have tried several different veg I would not but from a supermarket. Everything arrives in great condition and service is brilliant. We also love the recipe ideas they publish on their website so we can always try new ways to use our veg. I love this box scheme, and have been a weekly customer since last september. The thought and care that goes into providing the boxes is wonderfull, I always look forward to receiving them. It has brought back inspiration and creativity to my daily cooking.

Its the surprise element that i like about the box scheme.Everything else (quality/service/value) are the constants.

Have been a customer since March and just love the variety and freshness, each week you get a box of seasonal ingredients some I have never used before and the extras list is great I can have my eggs milk olive oil and lots more delivered and know its going to be great quality and value whatever I order

New and exciting veggies to try, have a little boy age 4 who has tried lots of new things, and a baby age 10 months who has been weaned on the stuff, can't recommend enough!

It's like Christmas every day that the veggie box arrives. It's so exciting being able to unpack and see what delicious veggies we have to play with. A fab way of buying organic, and also a great way of trying vegetables you wouldn't normally buy. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic way to try out new veg which you would not buy on the shops. Cutting down on food miles is so important now, and having the box delivered to the house from less than 10 miles away certainly helps! The produce is great - fresh and varied every week. I'd encourage anyone to try a veg box as it is so much cheaper than buying organic veg from a supermarket.

I look forward with eager anticipation to friday night when i get home to my veggie box. I have never met my delivery man as I work, but I left instructions of where leave it, and its there without fail. I love the fact that i have changed my cooking habits too, and we are now eating more vegetarian meals. I used a Frank Bordoni receipe last week for the two fennel that arrived, adn it went down a storm. thank you River Nene.

It's like Christmas every week, in addition to the fantastic veg,I now get all my milk delivered by them and freeze it so I don't get 'caught short'and have to go to the supermarket, the organic wines are also delicious.

Being tired of buying supermarket vegetables in their cellophane and polythene wrapping I saw this box scheme advertised in a local paper. Surfed the 'net and discovered I could receive home deliveries.I have never been to a supermarket since and think this scheme, the produce, the distributing staff are par excellence! I am recommending it often to friends and colleagues.

Great locally grown food without chemicals. I love the lack of food miles and great fast friendly service. All goods are amazing and ive tried things i would never have done previously. These people should win because they are changing the way people in our area eat.

The produce tastes SO GOOD. I'm really hooked on the beetroot. It's really flexible too - just look on the website to see what's in the boxes for the current week and choose the one you fancy. Then look forward to your delivery on the Friday or whichever day it comes. The service is brilliant and everyone is really helpful and friendly. It's way better than sliced bread!

Rivernene has to be one of my best discoveries ever! No longer do I have to sear my conscience with supermarket veg flown in from who-knows-where, obtained from exploited growers and producers. I now have the sheer enjoyment of fresh, flavourful vegetables ethically grown and cheerfully delivered, and the fun of discovering how to serve some of the more unusual ones. Rivernene rocks!

Every Friday we receive our selection box of good quality fresh organic vegetables, which has prompted me to try vegetables I wouldn't otherwise have bought. So each week is interesting to see what I can do with the contents. We consequently each more fresh veg as it tastes so much better whilst making a valuable contribution to the environment in recycleable boxes, less plastic and I dont have to travel to drive anywhere as we live 12 miles from the nearest town. The bonus is we are also supporting out local economy at the same time as receiving great veg!

I love getting home from work on Thursdays and discovering what's in the box! I thought I was a good cook before I started having the box delivered about a year ago, but I've discovered new veg and all sorts of new things to do with old favourites. The quality of the products (fruit, veg, eggs, olive oil) is brilliant, and the customer service is incredible. Long may it last!

I love getting local fresh seasonal produce delivered to my door - it makes Tuesdays really special. As a family we're eating much more healthily and the kids are much more willing to try new fruit and veg. I've also had to become more imaginative in my cooking!

Exceptional food, exceptional service. Fresh organic food, delivered on time. It's nice to find fresh seasonal food that tastes amazing, not veg that only lasts until you get it home because it's been sat in a supermarket for a week (nevermind how long it took to be delivered), and works out cheaper. It really is like having a goody bag delivered every week. We eat so much better with new recipes tried every week. Food really has never tasted so good.

Friendly delivery, flexible mean of payment and good comtetitive price (works out cheaper than tesco!) but much nicer and less packaging. Weekly news letter that put the city dwellers in touch with the process,difficulties and rewards of growing vegetables.

I have been having a box for just over a year now and look forward to my box every Friday. The food is wonderful - even food I have eaten all my life I feel I have only just 'tasted' for the first time. I feel I am giving my children the very best. The price is extremely good value. Every box is filled with goodies some of which I wouldn't have bought at the supermarket but, now that I have tried love them. The whole experience is rounded off by Colin. He is so freindly and enthusiastic about the scheme and the food he delivers. I think we must have the best box scheme and the best delivery man.

I'm writing this while eating a fantastic organic pear that i had delivered 10 minutes ago! As you can tell, I'm a River Nene convert. To echo the sentiments of others, the quality's fantastic, the flavour is AWESOME compared to regular fruit and veg, getting a box delivered never loses its novelty,(even though you know it's coming!) the delivery guy (Ian J) is very helpful and friendly, and last but not least, how great to be able to support a business like this which may otherwise have its life blood drained away by the supermarkets' iron regime on pricing from suppliers.Well done to all concerned!!

What makes River Nene special is the quality of fruit and vegetables, quality of service and quality of staff. I started having a box delivered in the summer of 2005 and I love it. The variety, the freshness (the soil is still damp!) and the new things I've now tried that I'd never had before. I'd never heard of Hispi Cabbage or Kohl Rabi before. The value is incredible, when you compare the cost per item to what you would get in the supermarkets its CHEAPER! I didn't think it would be but it is. I'm very critical of supermarket fruit and veg now and other sources where they say it's organic but may have travelled for two weeks to get there. It is truly fantastic and I love choosing which box I'm going to have each week. THANK YOU!

We've been using River Nene for about 9 months now and I don't know what I was ever doing before finding them! Not eating well, I imagine. River Nene makes healthy eating so easy, and not only that, by putting seasonal items in your box, you are encouraged to eat a bigger variety of fruit and veg. We've had so many things in our boxes this year that I would never have bought willingly from the grocery store...but you get it in your box, and you hate to waste it, so you try it....and there have been so many fantastic veggies I've been missing out on! Andrew, our delivery guy is always pleasant and goes out of his way to make sure that you are a satisfied customer. It's so important to me to be eating locally grown vegetables and fruit...and it's even more important knowing that they aren't covered in toxic chemicals! I highly recommend River Nene to anyone who cares about their well being, and about the environment!

This box scheme has changed our lives - we started getting the veg box when our baby was starting to eat solids and little did we know that this would make the entire family eat better. Thanks to River Nene we've tried (and loved) lots of veg that we wouldn't have otherwise, we've tasted the most delicious carrots and we've enjoyed the taste of veg as they should be. We're now quite spoiled and wouldn't buy a carrot in a supermarket if it begged us to! The delivery is amazingly reliable, the payment and ordering system is very easy and even the packaging is nice but sensible - all in all this is one company that does the best for its customers. We'll never leave them!

River Nene sell organic vegetables, and deliver them to your door. They are fresh and in season. They include a recipe in your box each week for you to try. They also put a comment from the farmer etc which is fun to read. I have tried vegetables which either the supermarkets don't sell or that I may not have purchased. The regional delivery staff are fantastic and polite. I wouldn't be without it, especially as I have a 6 month old daughter who is being weaned on fresh, organic and varied vegetables. Keep it up River Nene!!

It is wonderful to have such a lovely selection of fresh and unpackaged, no plastic green houses here, fruit and vegetables delivered, I don't look at what will be coming to selection is always interesting and a lovely surprise. Their website and literature is easy to use, it felt informative and friendly and delivery completely reliable.

I loooove receiving my weekly box, and browsing Rivernene's website for interesting 'extras' like organic wine. The vegetables are wonderful quality, the packing is minimal and sensible (they reuse most of it) and the delivery reliable. But more than that .... everyone I've had dealings with by phone has been friendly and helpful. AND ... I know I am buying from people with vision, heart and intelligence who care about the environment and the humans who live in it. We need more people with such dedication in this troubled world... concentrating on positive ways in ethical community endeavour rather than proliferating destruction. THANK YOU ALL !!!

the food is excellent. It smells beautiful and earthy and makes your tastebuds tingle. when you eat it you know you are not poisoning yourself with chemicals and River Nene have not hurt the environment with chemicals so it is great for your body and your conscience. They also give great recipes for you to try and you get seasonal food which is exciting and varied. I have tried foods i have not used before and i have learnt about organic farming from them which is so interesting and hard work. Thursday is my delivery day and i love getting the box and touching the food and smelling it. i enjoy washing the soil from the carrots and i can never resist eating one straight away. The vegetables last a week in my fridge so i get the chance to eat every single bit of it.Every-one i have dealt with from River Nene has been lovely and friendly and i salute them and say thank you for the sustenance of life.

Brilliant. I have been with River Nene since they first opened- about 18 months back. I had previously tried about 3 other box schemes with varying success- some were expensive, others of dubious quality. What I like about RN is the quality of the produce, ease of ordering, being able to plan meals by seeing what's in the box before it arrives, and value- ok, it is more expensive than non-orgnaic, but as a customer of Waitrose for all my other food, River Nene is cheaper than supermarket organic food- and fresher. I also like being able to support local farmers.

I really look forward to opening my box on a Thursday afternoon. The accompanying letter is a pleasure to read explaining what we have this week. Also a recipe is included (which I keep for future reference) Everything is always tip-tip condition and I love the variety of sizes - just like my grandand used to grow on his allotment. Delivery guy always so cheery - even when there was a downpour two weeks ago and he apologised that my grapefruit bag was damp! An absolute delight to open the box every week. A convenient, easy and quick way to order quality organic produce. Mainly fruit and veg bxes, but also do extras including organic wine, chocolate and dairy products. I hardly ever go to the supermarket now, which makes my life much less stressful as I hate battling through the aisles. Also a joy to know that local farmers and suppliers are used.

The wonderful so fresh food is just the best I have tasted for many a long year. I like so many other folk want local, seasonal veg not something that has travelled thousands of air miles and is a week or more old when you get it. I have been using river nene for roughly 5 months, I absolutely love the fact that it is all seasonal produce and you get such a wonderful variety. Since using this scheme I have tried lots of different veg in all sorts of recipes that I wouldn't have done otherwise. I find that when I buy fresh produce at the super market I buy the same old stuff and it gets boring! I look forward to getting my box on a thursday just to see what exciting recipes I'll be putting my hands to next! My partner loves it too by the way.

As a new customer of the River Nene Organic Veg Box Scheme I really can't rate them highly enough. As mum to 3 small children I have become increasingly aware of the need for wholesome, healthy, organic foods to be included in their diets (and mine!). I always look forward to getting my box on a Wednesday. The quality of the produce is always of a high standard. I have eaten veg I have never tried before (kohl rabi mash the other week !). The staff are friendly, price is good. It makes me eat fresh veg as I dont want any to go to waste. Highly recommended.

They also use biodegradeable or recyclable packaging where possible and only surface freighted produce where local is unavailable. I cannot praise the box scheme enough! The whole family has benefitted from having wholesome, fresh, organic fruit and vegetables delivered straight to the door. What could be more convenient? The service is second to none and we enjoy experimenting with the many recipes in the newsletters and also on the website. I certainly wouldn't consider going back to buying fruit and vegatables from the supermarket ever again.

After six months of using this service we are totally addicted. The website is so straightforward and easy to use. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food ...well it is just delicious and fresh and as others have said we eat so much more healthily since we started having these deliveries...even the teenagers now eat organic veggies and fruit quite happily !! This box scheme has changed the way I cook. I love researching new recipes to use all the produce.Also Melanie is SUCH a lovely person. I have recently been laid up after an operation and she always brings my box into the house for me and stops for a chat.

Local fresh great tasting organic food with excellent service. Since getting our weekly veg box and fruit box, we eat much more fresh food and use the supermarkets much less. The food is fresher, tastier and cheaper than the supermarket and it is delivered.

The best thing I have ever done! I am a local distributor for River Nene, the service I get from our farm and our sister farm in Devon (Riverford) is fantastic. The produce is great and is mostly from within 30 miles of where I live. The best bit is the customers; they are great, they love the scheme, the produce and the ethos of what we do. Yes we have our problems - who doesn't - but they are always understanding. What we do doesn't suit everybody but it is very rare for someone to leave us because of our produce and service. you can see what you're going to get each week in the box, and arrange the rest of your *ahem* supermarket shop around what you're going to get. its seasonal so you're eating what we should be eating at this time of year,ian will deliver to your work if you're not at home when he delivers,food is locally sourced where possible,they give you little newsletters with each box with funky recipes to try with random ingredients you sometimes get,so it makes weird stuff accessible, like "fennel" for me!

you can choose a price range from£7-12 the quality is excellent and it's delivered to your door weekly/fortnightly. kylie/pete garlick are the distributors and they are always helpful and cheerful it's a great service.

We have been ordering from river nene for almost a year now.The produce is fantastic, as is the service. It's so nice to have vegetables that haven't been scrubbed clean! As it's all either locally grown or shipped in rather than flown, you don't have to worry about the air miles of your food.

I have been eating Organic food for about 5 years, but the beauty of this scheme is the knowledge that the food is regionally farmed and is seasonal, it encourages me to educate my pallette, experiment with different recipes and it epitomises all that is important about being healthily aware and environmentally friendly

The personal customer service and the good tasting produce.

Great tasting apples. Strawberries and cream - fantastic. Use juicing carrots, very cheap, no need to peel. They come in a large paper sack. Lots of variety in produce including drinks.

They use as much local food as possible, much of it grown on their own farm. The quality is great - we particularly enjoyed the different sorts of squash, potatoes and asparagus. There are a good variety of products, including some less usual ones like wet garlic, and they tell you lots about them through newsletters - you feel as though you share something of the growing process. Everything's organic, so it's good for the environment too.

I've only just begun to order from River Nene and most impressed with there overall service and the way I'm kept up to date on new their products.
