Low Sizergh Barn

Farm shop

Selling: Cheese / Dairy, Meats, Fruit & Veg

From the upstairs tea room at Low Sizergh Barn farm shop, you can watch the cows being milked. That's how fresh the produce is here. Organic vegetables are delivered daily by wheelbarrow from Growing Well, an enterprise based on the farm, and organic meat comes from other farms close by. It's such efforts that secured owner Alison Park the prestigious title of Farm Retailer of the Year in 2005. If nothing else, take time out to explore the farm with an ice cream made with milk from the dairy.

My partner and I visited here on the way back from a Lakeland trip and found this farm shop and cafe to be an absolute treasure trove of fantastic homemade and local goodies (plus the best from further afield). They had a superb array of cheeses, which they let us sample at length, and possibly the world's best homemade lemon curd. Plus they do takeaway great fairtrade coffee for those of us on the road. I urge you to go out of your way to visit.

Visited on holiday for 15 years, including this week, we take family and friends. Its a magnet for good food, we even take home orders for everyone. The service is warm and friendly.

Fantastic treat of a place to visit. Not just a food store. I always find something special or a bit different there. The cafe is great but a bit slow self service in busy days.Need to review the system for getting srved and paying. You feel really involved in the farm and can follow a farm trail for even more fun. Ilove the fact that lots of what they sell comes from the Growing Well scheme which helps people recovering from mental health problems. If that's not enough, there are quirky and beautiful objets d'art and gifts to browse, and some gorgeous clothes and jewellery. Love it...

local produce and even better items made/grown on the farm, nice organic range and the home made cakes and quiche slices are to die for. Excellent range of cheeses and locally reared meat. Also good craft gallery and cafe. This place is a gem

Excellent. Good Old Local Produce how it used to be. Slightly more expensive than your local supermarket, but worth it in taste and quality. Helpfull & curtious staff.
