The food is incredible and cooked to perfection, the service was excellent and the setting charming. A restaurant with a warm, friendly atmosphere. A little gem!
What a fine Restaurant, i go to Cornwall every year to see my family and i always make time time to go to saffron for a meal, normally at the weekend. It has a great atmosphere and the food is incredible. Nik is obviously a very talented chef. you dont get restaurants like Saffron where i live
As an occasional visitor to Truro we always make sure we go to Saffron....food consistently good service with a friendly smile and general ambience relaxing....menu often bit unusual but always works well
My husband and I eat at Saffron regularly and have never been disappointed. A consistently high standard using quality, local ingredients.
Enjoyed an 'express lunch' with my husband and sister, really good value for money.Excellent food, perfectly cooked and presented, especially the pork fillet. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere.
I had a lovely evening meal here at a very reasonable price. The evening kitchen menu was 3 courses for £19.95, great value for great cooking and a lovely freindly atmosphere. Nat King Cole was playing in the background and some of the tables were like recycled school desks or something. The restaurant was painted in bright colours of orange and yellow, yet relaxed. Staff were really freindly and helpful. I had deliciously flavoured crab chowder, followed by chicken and delicately spiced saffron rice and the piece de resistance was the dessert of stewed gooseberries (took me back to my childhood) with elderflower sorbet. Yum. All washed down with a lovely bottle of south african chenin blanc for about £13.00!
My wife & I visited here and really enjoyed the food. It was a great place to eat in Truro. Good luck.
Visited on Monday - great Fruits de Mer and great service - and I have fallen in love with the pretty blonde who works there.
Nik & Traci are my local heroes, a local boy made good, left Truro to work in London, his dream was always to come back home and open his own resturant, which he and his wife Traci have done with a quality that is not matched in many establishments in Cornwall or in many places in the rest of the country. I have been spoiled by the quality of the food, the inspired choices of seasonal food, which always has one choice on the menu that you would think oh don't know about that, only then to be blown away by its presentation and balance of taste, never miss the chocolate experiment and goosebery time is not to be missed, my personal favorite was scallops with rhubarb which was so inspired I was talking about it for months. I have gotten to know Nik & Traci over the years they have been running Saffron and nothing has been to much for them, in my dietry needs and fitting me in when busy, which they are most often. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my delight in this restaurant.
Fresh organic, locally sourced food, cooked to perfection and served in a friendly informal atmosphere. There are private seating areas for romantic meals or you can sit in the main window and watch the world go by while you eat. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
