Dartmoor Inn
Selling: Home-Cooked Dishes
A roadside inn with very high standards of hospitality. The stylish dining rooms have a smart yet relaxed atmosphere. This is complemented by excellent cooking based on seasonal ingredients purchased from local farmers and food artisans. The bar menu (except Fri, Sat evenings) is ideal for a light snack, but dinner in the restaurant is a more sophisticated affair.

The Dartmoor Inn has been a part of my life since i was little. My grandparents live on the opposite road from the restaraunt in Lydford so i have been numerous times starting at a young age. I remember the Dartmoor Inn as a local pub and now its transformed into a sophisticated restaraunt. You can expect nothing but the best from this place! recommended to anybody in the area!
Consistently high welcome combined with a cosistent high quality of food coupled with excellent value for money and using local produce as much as possible, food promotions throughout the year celebrating local food and beverageswhich showcase the quality of food avaliable in the area. This restaurant is a top class ambassadour for the area.Philip and Karen Burgess are absolute Local food heros.
It feels like home. Excellent, friendly service. Food is devine, it is nutured; then cooked with skill, care and love. Beverages meet all tastes and requirements. Good Luck Dartmoor Inn, you deserve to win. Sarah & Chris, Weymouth.
I have taken holidays in Devon & Cornwall many times and make a point of 'dropping in' places after the days activities. It's pot luck I know. Never before have I been so delighted with the result. After a few hours walking in the Gorge we entered this Inn and were welcomed like family members. The service was as high quality as the welcome. The food was THE BEST I have had outside London, so by default the value was very impressive. The use of fresh local produce just lifted the food quality even higher. I will never visit or pass through Devon again without eating here, it's that good.
This is my favourite pub in the whole of Devon. The staff treat me as if I am someone special and the food is always excellent, I hope they win the competition. Dido

A gormet oasis in the heart of Devon! For a special occasion you can't beat their wonderful dinner followed by a stay in their sumptuous bedrooms and a breakfast fit for a king!
This is the best hotels in the area. The food is excellent, the service friendly and efficient and the atmosphere relaxing. We have been many times with visitors from abroad who all found the place a joy. Keep it up!
I never cease to be amazed at the pleasure I receive when dining at this wonderful Inn. From the names of the beef and lamb on the blackboard behind the bar and the local seasonal vegetables each menu contains one's mouth watErs. The Inn has a strong connection with the farming community and local residents in the research Karen Burgess has done in producing a map of original field names from 1846 and in for her work in producing the important Dartmoor Festival.
From the moment you arrive you feel special because your are in a special place. The Dartmoor Inn is a feast for all the senses and its core is the commitment of the owners to fine, local food in fabulous surroundings. The Dartmoor Inn doesn't just try to use local produce, it is the very point of what the Dartmoor Inn is about.
