Unusually situated inside in a converted Victorian railway shed, this six-day-a-week indoor market represents small farmers, growers and producers from Kent. Buy fresh produce and local speciality products direct from the farm or producer: free-range, organic meats, cheeses, freshly baked bread, cider, smoked meats and fish - even foraged foods. This is the ultimate one stop shop for foodies. The restaurant has earned rave reviews from the likes of Jay Rayner, and serves daily changing dishes made from ingredients sourced from market produce.

A warm friendly atmosphere with tempting produce of a high standard . All stall holders are only to happy to please , especially the butchery department who are very knowledgeable and procure an excellent array of well butchered locally sourced meats.

A special visit to "Patricks Kitchen", just inside the door of the Goods shed - Patrick knows so much about food, previously working in top London restaurants. His assortment of cheese tarts are delicious as are his salads, fishcakes with tomoto salsa and his pears in vanillla. He is so helpful and talks passionately about food , making your mouth water and wanting to know more.

Finally made it here today and, boy, was it worth it! As so many others have said, Tom the cheese man takes a lot of beating.......I'd never heard of White Lanark but it's fabulous. The meat was great as well - free range and well aged. Would love to have tried the restaurant but family ties got in the way - another time. Unfortunately too far for me to shop there every day but, if I could, I would!

Wonderfully cooked food from the farmers market alongside the restaurant - what better advertisement for freshness.

Great food, Great staff (knoweledgeable & intrested), Great restaurant. Special mention for Tom,the cheeses he sells are out of this world. A 'must' visit if you're in the area.

Encourages a real sense of community just outside the City of Canterbury so us city dwellers can really enjoy and appreciate the produce of the countryside so close by.A wonderful hustly bustly feel, always something unusual to try or buy.Great for a fresh juice, coffee or 3 course meal!

Amazing. My father has been coming here since it opened. Fantastic restaurant - particularly good for breakfast. Special mention must go to Tom's cheeses for the best selection of cheese and the most obscure cheese facts I have ever come across!

The people are friendly and very helpful. The produce is local and the free range eggs beat any others around. The cheese is exceptionally excellent with varieties not found locally. The sandwich stall has wonderful bread and imaginative fillings. There is vegetables, meat, fish, wine, candies, fudge, bread, pate, to name but a few all organic, local, fresh and excellent value for money. Good food in the cafe as well. Best use of a Victorian goods shed ever!
