This tiny West End bakery and saucier grew from the success of the related traiteur next door. Heart Buchanan produces a range of its own home made sauces including pasta, pesto and Thai curry sauces. In the bakery customers can chose from a selection of breads, pastries and cakes to enjoy before, during or after their meal. Private dining is also available at request. At lunch the traiteur next door offers a variety of sandwiches and salads, but when the evening arrives the daily menu offers a short selection of dishes such as chargrilled duck breast with shallot confit, as well as platters of charcuterie or seafood. Both are ideal for sharing, and seafood-wise expect squat lobster tail, West Coast langoustines, hand-dived scallops simply pan-fried in butter and lemon, and both cold and hot roast smoked salmon. It's BYO, with no corkage if you buy from the traiteur.

I love everything about HB the decoration, smells, frendly staff and most of all the food and delectable deserts that are always on display. The only down side is the coffee is not the best.

Truly inspirational flavours….chorizo lasagne to die for…genuinely served with glorious smiles. When I’m in Glasgow it’s a must visit…….sadly we don’t have a Heart Buchanan in Warwickshire.

HB is like no other place in the city. Amazing selection and endless varaitions of freshly prepared foods that surprise me every time I go in. The new shop next door is a fantastic addition. I can have coffee and a superb salad and watch the world go by. It's run by people who really really care about the food they serve and it shows. Every town in the UK should have a Heart Buchanan.
