Nigel Kennedy and his staff at Appetite have a passion for food that translates into exciting dishes creatively presented. Appetite definitely goes the extra mile when it comes to making any event - be it a wedding or a corporate function - not only a gastronomic, but a visual feast; an added but significant bonus is that the staff at Appetite are all absolutely delightful and I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

The daily parade of wit and charm combined with a conspicuous talent for creating engaging, delicious meals make Appetite the finest lunch option in Edinburgh. Splendid.

A takeaway in a league of its own: superb and dependable food, wide choice, occasional surprises and such friendly service from charming, smiling people. Not to mention the great catering which we also use from time to time. A one-off, and thank you for it Nige and team.

You can smell whats for lunch from way up Howe Street, appetite is simply incredible, fantastic mouth watering lunches EVERY DAY, wonderful cheerful and happy staff, coming for lunch at appetite is a true experience, which will always ensure you go back for more, as for there outside catering, they are the best in Edinburgh, delicous menus, superb staff, they will ensure your function goes so incredibly well, that you can stand back and really enjoy yourself, finding appetite, will change your appetite forever

I think the key to why Appetite is so fabulous is the personal service and passion that goes into the food, service and planning of events. The company ethos is spot on and the spirit of Charlie Ainscough (nee Dickins, Appetite's founding partner with Nigel) who left us for a life in NZ lives on. Go go you good things!! I have just had my son's first birthday party, as I cannot cook, and plus didn't have the time I orgainised the food through Appetite. The food was out of this world and everyone raved about how delicious it was! The food made the party and I am forever grateful to them - plus the staff are very cheery and helpful too.

I worked for Appetite as a part of the waiting staff all through my 4 years at Uni. Now I am delighted to be working full-time for the company organising all the outside catering events. I have attended many launch parties and private events in Edinburgh and can hand on heart say I've never come across another catering company that provides the same level of service and food presentation as Appetite! Not to even mention the taste of the food, yummmmmm!

I was first introduced to Appetite a few years ago through weekly lunch meetings that they (thankfully) catered. I can honestly say I've never looked forward to a weekly staff meeting as I did those. We all did. We practically fought our way to the meeting table. Since then, I've endeavoured to get over to Appetite as often as possible - a hearty lunchtime treat or a takeaway dinner to make Delia green with envy. I've also been to several canapé parties catered by appetite - a retirement do; several launch parties; the odd wedding. They are the best in town by a long shot. I’m just glad I don't to wait to be invited to a party to sample their truly top notch nosh and can stop into the shop anytime.

I organised a formal dinner for 150 of edinburghs top lawyers who are a very hard group to please. Appetite Direct provided a high quality meal at a reasonable cost and it won universal praise from all in attendance. Also as an organiser they made my job much easier by taking the catering burden off my hands and provided a first class and highly competent service. Great to deal with and will happily do so again and have recommended them to many others

Great food, all home made on the premises. Restaurant quality without the service charge! Wishing appetite all the success they deserve.

Nigel & Kat know how to entertain, aswell as cook and advise on champagne and fine wines! We have full confidence in their delicious menu carefully selected for our wedding in July. Our recent samples of the menu were fantastic! Absolutely delicious....what a great team!

In a city filled with McDonalds & Starbucks outlets, its so refreshing to find somewhere that sells yummy, wholesome and hearty food that won't hurt the old purse strings. Lovely fresh ingredients and food that tastes as good as it smells! Highly recommended.
