All the meat sold by Higher Hacknell Farm is reared by Tim and Jo Budden on their 350-acre farm, or by a small group of local organic farmers. They use a local abattoir to minimise any stress to the animals and hang the meat at their own butchery, where it is cut to customers' specification. There are several meat boxes available - lamb, beef, pork, chicken - and they can be ordered online or by phone.

It is going to make even the must demanding of us jump with joy with its quality and aroma. Great service and great example of how to run a farm, animal wealfare and it shows in the end products!
I received my first mixed box last week. A very good selection of quality meat, well packed and labelled. No more routing around in the freezer.We've had a couple of cuts now and I can honestly say that the lamb was one of the best tasting joints I ever have had. Sausages were excellent with lots of flavour and texture - and they barbequed excellently. Overall, would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.
The quality and service are excellent. No request is too much trouble and the prices offer brilliant value for money. The mixed box is a delight every month if, like me, you opt for their own selection which is always varied with a bit of everything. Any variations or additions are always happily accommodated. I can not recommend highly enough and I have done my home work and sampled from quite a few suppliers before confidently placing my regular meat order here.
