Langthorne's Buffalo Produce

Drivers passing Paul Langthorne's farm near Northallerton could be forgiven for being distracted: herds of buffalo are not what motorists expect to see in rural North Yorkshire let alone a 6ft American elk known as a wapiti or an iron age pig. They are all part of Paul Langthorne's diversification from dairy cows to buffalo, prompted by his son's allergy to cow's milk. Today 250 water buffalo from Romania graze his fields and supply a rich creamy milk which is made into buffalo mozzarella. The meat goes to make the very popular buffalo burgers cooked and sold at local farmer's markets. Other stock includes Aberdeen Angus beef, venison, Herdwick lamb, mutton, free range veal and wild boar and his latest purchase: a couple of yaks. Farm shop open Wednesday and Thursday.

great tasting burgers, sausages and meat. Aswell as mild buffalo cheese. I always fill my freezer for a month when I see these guys at a farmers market.

First class burgers and bangers to be had from these folks. Just the job for breakfast at Otley Farmers' Market and a month's supply for the freezer. Good stuff !
Their produce is exceptional and the ultimate hangover cure...I often buy their buffalo burgers from the local farmer's market on those sore headed saturday mornings and within moments the meaty goodness makes me at one with the world.

As an avid meat eater, this place provides somew of the finest meat I have ever tasted nationwide. Buffalo Burgers are the tops! The venison and wild boar sausages are beyond belief. Best mutton Ive ever had. Always supports the Wetherby Farmers Market and brings in specials if you ask (like a wild boar joint, or salmon-cut beef)

I've just come away from this stall with a huge bag of delicious meat for less than £15. Why on earth would I want to use a supermarket when I can have this? Great meat, great variety and great value!

This sells amazing quality food and the service always comes with a smile. The markets are often a while away but i dont mind the drive as the food is worth it! You can also visit the farm which makes a lovely trip, seeing all those strange animals!
This is a very original idea. I havent heard of many other people selling buffalo or wopeeti meat! (I think thats how you spell it) this is a very freindly company which I think is a very good quality to have in the market.

Absolutely fabulous meat the whole family are massive fans. This is the meat that made my brother in law eat meat again after 20 years as a veggie what higher praise can I give!
the best money can buy and worth twice what you pay. I am asked by friends in gloucester and stockton to buy meats and take them with me for them when I visit.

The meat is fantastic. We like it because you can get meat that you can't/find it had to get else where like mutton or goat, that we got today. There is always a queue for his stall and the burgers, oh they are proper burgers nice, big and meaty, not like these piddling ones you normally get in supermarkets.... Top Products
