Description
Lucy Morgan first started baking at home and selling her creations at local markets in 2005. Now the Butternut Deli on Church Road is a busy shop, selling home-made cakes, pizzas and quiches as well as locally sourced breads, eggs, pastas, preserves and cheeses. Particularly popular amongst children and adults are Lucy’s home-made brownies, which come in a variety of flavours ranging from original chocolate to chocolate toffee and peacan to prune and brandy for the more eccentric of palates! The Butternut Deli also offers a range of gluten-free products.

I visit Butternut Deli's market stall at Bradford on Avon weekly. They have such a good range of home made cakes, I always find it difficult to choose which one I should buy. It always used to be their delicious Bakewell Tart but I have branched out to their excellent Victoria Sponge and Ginger Cake in recent weeks. I have never been disappointed with the cakes, and to top it all, it is always served with a smile.

I love the spinach, pinenut and feta cheese tart so much that I get down to the Bradford on Avon market on Thursday very early to make sure she hasn't run out! And while I am there I make a nice selection of cakes - the carrot cake is amazing and I love the flapjacks and brownies and...well, I love it all!

The Butternut Deli is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the food is amazing. I know that I’m getting fresh local produce, which has been hand prepared, no preservatives and chemicals at an affordable price. You have to try the ‘Pecan Brownie’ I have never tasted anything quite like it!! Well done Lucy!

Having lived in St. George for many years, Lucy's deli makes a big difference to the local area, making it possible to buy a wide selection of high quality and specialist food. The shop looks and smells inviting and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. I would especially recommend Lucy's homemade chocolate brownies and the fresh local breads.

When we first moved to the area we were busy unpacking so called in to the Butternet Deli to get something quick to eat. We now find weekly excuses to call in and try more of Lucy's wonderful cooking. She's always so friendly and helpful - I couldn't imagine St George without her.

There's nothing better than driving home on a wet windy night and realising you are just in time to nip round the corner to pick up one of Lucy's delightful creations. Often I go in for one thing and am guided to something new and delicious and I invariably buy more than I'd intended. A shining food light in St George, Lucy has also directed me to local sources for things she doesn't stock.

I look forward to the weekly farmers market in Bradford-on-Avon and to the cakes sold at this friendly stall. My favourite's the bakewell tart !!! Yum.

A fantastic little shop whose staff make it a delight to visit - definitely what St.George has needed for a long time!

Church Road has needed a shop like the Butternut Deli for a long time. Lucy and her staff are always so helpful and happy with all customers and the food is absolutely wonderful! Her chocolate brownies are to die for and in fact all her cakes, etc are wonderful. There are so many things to find in the shop that I usually spend ages just looking! May Lucy and her family continue with success - they are really lovely people.

Lucy has created luxury and indulgence at affordable prices. She has brought sophistication and elegance, but above all homemade produce served with a smile in an otherwise drab shopping area. I always buy more than i intended to as it's all too tempting to refuse to buy the goodies.
